A Human Genome Diversity Cell Line Panel
Howard M. Cann,Claudia de Toma,Lucien Cazes,Marie Fernande Legrand,Valérie Morel,Laurence Piouffre,J. G. Bodmer,Walter F. Bodmer,Batsheva Bonne-Tamir,Anne Cambon-Thomsen,Zhu Chen,Jiayou Chu,Carlo Carcassi,Licinio Contu,Ruofu Du,Laurent Excoffier,G. B. Ferrara,Jonathan S. Friedlaender,Helena Groot,David Gurwitz,Trefor Jenkins,Rene J. Herrera,Xiaoyi Huang,Judith R. Kidd,Kenneth K. Kidd,André Langaney,Alice A. Lin,S. Qasim Mehdi,Peter Parham,Alberto Piazza,Maria Pia Pistillo,Yaping Qian,Qunfang Shu,Jiujin Xu,Shi-Yao Zhu,James L. Weber,Henry T. Greely,Marcus W. Feldman,Gilles Thomas,Jean Dausset,Luigi Luca Cavalli-Sforza +40 more
TL;DR: A resource of 1064 cultured lymphoblastoid cell lines from individuals in different world populations and corresponding milligram quantities of DNA is deposited at the Foundation Jean Dausset (CEPH) in Paris.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relevance of residue 116 of HLA‐B27 in determining susceptibility to ankylosing spondylitis
Mauro D'Amato,Maria Teresa Fiorillo,Carlo Carcassi,Alessandro Mathieu,Angelo Zuccarelli,Pier Paolo Bitti,Roberto Tosi,Rosa Sorrentino,Rosa Sorrentino +8 more
TL;DR: It is reported that HLA‐B★2709 is not associated with AS, as it was not found in patients, and the most likely interpretation of these data is that the differences in charge and size that accompany the His‐to‐Asp substitution exclude the acceptance of the arthritogenic peptide.
Journal ArticleDOI
HLA-dependent hypersensitivity to nevirapine in Sardinian HIV patients.
Roberto Littera,Carlo Carcassi,Alessandro Masala,P. Piano,Paolo Serra,F Ortu,Nicoletta Corso,Basilia Casula,Giorgio La Nasa,Licinio Contu,Paolo Emilio Manconi +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that hypersensitive reaction to nevirapine in Sardinian HIV-infected patients is associated with the HLA Cw8-B14 haplotype, which is in strong linkage disequilibrium in the Sardinian population.
Journal ArticleDOI
Graft rejection after unrelated donor hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for thalassemia is associated with nonpermissive HLA-DPB1 disparity in host-versus-graft direction
Katharina Fleischhauer,Franco Locatelli,Marco Zecca,Maria Grazia Orofino,Claudio Giardini,Piero De Stefano,Andrea Pession,Angela Maria Iannone,Carlo Carcassi,Elisabetta Zino,Giorgio La Nasa +10 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that in patients with thalassemia, the incidence of graft failure after HSCT may be reduced by appropriate selection of UDs, with such selection taking into account the functional rules of immunogenetics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fine mapping of the PSORS4 psoriasis susceptibility region on chromosome 1q21.
Francesca Capon,Sabrina Semprini,Sergio Chimenti,Giuseppe Fabrizi,Giovanna Zambruno,Severino Murgia,Carlo Carcassi,Marcello Fazio,Rita Mingarelli,Bruno Dallapiccola,Giuseppe Novelli +10 more
TL;DR: Evidence supporting the refinement of a non-HLA psoriasis susceptibility locus is provided, indicating that the 1q21 susceptibility gene may be localized in the genomic interval spanned by D1S2346 and 140J1D.
