TL;DR: To evaluate the existing AR literature, international multidisciplinary experts with an interest in AR have produced the International Consensus statement on Allergy and Rhinology: Allergic Rhinitis (ICAR:AR).
Journal ArticleDOI
Local IgE production and positive nasal provocation test in patients with persistent nonallergic rhinitis.
Carmen Rondon,José J. Romero,Soledad Lopez,Cristina Antunez,Enrique Martín-Casañez,María José Torres,Cristobalina Mayorga,Rebeca R-Pena,Miguel Blanca +8 more
TL;DR: The hypothesis that in persistent nonallergic rhinitis some patients may have local inflammation, nasal IgE production, and a positive response to a nasal allergen provocation test despite no evidence of systemic atopy is supported.
Journal Article
Drug hypersensitivity reactions: response patterns, drug involved, and temporal variations in a large series of patients.
Inmaculada Doña,Natalia Blanca-López,M.J. Torres,J. Garcia-Campos,Ignacio Garcia-Nunez,Francisca Gómez,Maria Salas,Carmen Rondon,María Gabriela Canto,M. Blanca +9 more
TL;DR: NSAIDs were the drugs most frequently involved in DHRs and the most common diagnosis was urticaria/angioedema with cross intolerance and Reactions to emerging drugs such as quinolone derivatives and radiocontrast media are becoming more common.
Journal ArticleDOI
Local allergic rhinitis: concept, pathophysiology, and management.
Carmen Rondon,Paloma Campo,Alkis Togias,Wytske Fokkens,Stephen R. Durham,Desmond G. Powe,Joaquim Mullol,Miguel Blanca +7 more
TL;DR: A number of patients previously given a diagnosis of nonallergic rhinitis or idiopathicrhinitis are now being classified as having LAR, and a nasal allergen provocation test is needed to identify the culpritAllergen or allergens.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characteristics of subjects experiencing hypersensitivity to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs: patterns of response.
Inmaculada Doña,Natalia Blanca-López,Jose A. Cornejo-Garcia,María José Torres,Jose Julio Laguna,Javier Fernández,A. Rosado,Carmen Rondon,Paloma Campo,José A. G. Agúndez,Miguel Blanca,Gabriela Canto +11 more
TL;DR: Non‐steroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are one of the most frequently involved groups of medicines in hypersensitivity drug reactions and two mechanisms can induce the reaction: immunological (sensitization) and pharmacological (cyclooxygenase inhibition).
