TL;DR: High coverage of essential interventions did not imply reduced maternal mortality in the health-care facilities the authors studied, and the maternal severity index (MSI) had good accuracy for maternal death prediction in women with markers of organ dysfunction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mortality among infants of black as compared with white college-educated parents.
TL;DR: In contrast to black infants in the general population, black infants born to college-educated parents have higher mortality rates than similar white infants only because of their higher rates of low birth weight.
Journal ArticleDOI
Causes of death among stillbirths
Journal ArticleDOI
Work-up of stillbirth: a review of the evidence.
Robert M. Silver,Michael W. Varner,Uma M. Reddy,Robert L. Goldenberg,Halit Pinar,Deborah L. Conway,Radek Bukowski,Marshall W. Carpenter,Carol J. R. Hogue,Marian Willinger,Donald J. Dudley,George R. Saade,Barbara J. Stoll +12 more
TL;DR: A review of known and suspected causes of stillbirth including genetic abnormalities, infection, fetal-maternal hemorrhage, and a variety of medical conditions in the mother is presented in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predicting Falls: The Role of Mobility and Nonphysical Factors
Stephanie A. Studenski,Pamela W. Duncan,Julie Chandler,Greg Samsa,Barbara Prescott,Carol J. R. Hogue,Lucille B. Bearon +6 more
TL;DR: A four‐domain predictive model of recurrent falls developed for this study, in which limited mobility is considered a necessary but not sufficient element in risk of recurrent fells, is tested.
