Journal ArticleDOI
Pharmacokinetics of testosterone undecanoate injected alone or in combination with norethisterone enanthate in healthy men.
Ammar Qoubaitary,Cristina Meriggiola,Chiu Ming Ng,Leslie Lumbreras,Silvia Cerpolini,Giuseppe Pelusi,Peter D. Christensen,Laura Hull,Ronald S. Swerdloff,Christina Wang +9 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that despite some accumulation of T, TU 1000 mg + NETE 200 mg administered every 8 weeks may be preferable for the future contraceptive efficacy study because of more complete suppression of gonadotropins and spermatogenesis.
Journal Article
Androgen deficiency and aging in men.
TL;DR: Careful long-term studies are needed to assess the risk-to-reward ratios of androgen or other hormone replacement therapy before treatment strategies similar to estrogen therapy for postmenopausal women are implemented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Testosterone metabolic clearance and production rates determined by stable isotope dilution/tandem mass spectrometry in normal men: influence of ethnicity and age.
Christina Wang,Don H. Catlin,Borislav Starcevic,Andrew Leung,Emma DiStefano,Geraldine Lucas,Laura Hull,Ronald S. Swerdloff +7 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that using LC-MS-MS to detect d3T in serum after constant infusion of stable isotope-labeled T allows the measurements of MCRT and PRT to be used to study androgen metabolism repeatedly after physiological or pharmacological interventions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Semen parameters in fertile US men: the Study for Future Families.
J. B. Redmon,W. Thomas,W. Ma,Erma Z. Drobnis,Amy E.T. Sparks,Christina Wang,Charlene Brazil,James W. Overstreet,Fan Liu,Shanna H. Swan +9 more
TL;DR: Fertile men display wide variation in all of the semen parameters traditionally used to assess fertility potential, and Black men had significantly lower semen volume, sperm concentration and total motile sperm counts than White and Hispanic/Latino men.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of testosterone replacement on measures of mobility in older men with mobility limitation and low testosterone concentrations: secondary analyses of the Testosterone Trials
Shalender Bhasin,Susan S. Ellenberg,Thomas W. Storer,Shehzad Basaria,Marco Pahor,Alisa J. Stephens-Shields,Jane A. Cauley,Kristine E. Ensrud,John T. Farrar,David Cella,Alvin M. Matsumoto,Glenn R. Cunningham,Ronald S. Swerdloff,Christina Wang,Cora E. Lewis,Mark E. Molitch,Elizabeth Barrett-Connor,Jill P. Crandall,Xiaoling Hou,Peter Preston,Denise Cifelli,Peter J. Snyder,Thomas M. Gill +22 more
TL;DR: Men in the testosterone group were more likely to perceive improvement in their walking ability (PGIC) than men in the placebo group, both in all men in TTrials and in men enrolled in the PFT.
