Signet-ring cell carcinoma of the stomach: Impact on prognosis and specific therapeutic challenge.

TL;DR: In this review, recent data on the epidemiology, oncogenesis, prognosis and specific therapeutic strategies in both early and advanced SRCC of the stomach and in hereditary diffuse gastric cancer are analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen 2 induces interleukin-18 receptor expression in B cells

TL;DR: It is shown that the EBV nuclear antigen EBNA2 induces expression of the 2 chains of the interleukin-18 receptor (IL-18R) in Burkitt lymphoma (BL) cell lines and in nontransformed B cells, and that the IL- 18 receptor expressed in EBV-infected BL cells has signaling capacity, because IL-18 significantly modified gene expression.
Journal ArticleDOI

The consensus immunoscore: toward a new classification of colorectal cancer.

TL;DR: The international validation of the prognostic value of the consensus Immunoscore for time to recurrence, disease-free survival and overall survival in colon cancer together with its predictive value of response to chemotherapy provides valuable information for patient care management.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of the prognostic impact of pathologic response to preoperative chemotherapy using Mandard’s Tumor Regression Grade (TRG) in gastric adenocarcinoma

TL;DR: TRG after preoperative chemotherapy is an important prognostic factor in patients resected for a gastric adenocarcinoma and further studies should be performed to evaluate if adjuvant therapy should be adapted to pathological response.
