Freimut H. Schilling,Claudia Spix,Frank Berthold,Rudolf Erttmann,N. Fehse,Barbara Hero,Gisela Klein,Johannes Sander,Kerstin Schwarz,Joern Treuner,Ulrich Zorn,Joerg Michaelis +11 more
TL;DR: The present findings do not support the usefulness of general screening for neuroblastoma at one year of age and reveal substantial overdiagnosis in the former group.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wlodarski,Willy Wössmann,Martin Zenker,Stefanie Zimmermann,Stefan M. Pfister,Stefan M. Pfister,Christian P. Kratz +78 more
TL;DR: This review summarizes the current knowledge of cancer predisposition syndromes in pediatric oncology and provides essential information on clinical situations in which a childhood cancer genetic predisposition syndrome should be suspected.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neuroblastoma incidence and survival in European children (1978-1997): report from the Automated Childhood Cancer Information System project.
Claudia Spix,Guido Pastore,Guido Pastore,Risto Sankila,Charles A. Stiller,Eva Steliarova-Foucher +5 more
TL;DR: A certain amount of overdiagnosis in children under 2 years of age may explain the increased incidence rates and partially the increase in survival and overall 5-year survival in Europe in 1988-1997.
Journal ArticleDOI
Leukaemia in young children living in the vicinity of German nuclear power plants.
TL;DR: The observed positive distance trend remains unexplained and is largely attributed to cases in previous studies of the GCCR (especially in the inner zone) as there is clearly some overlap between those studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cancer spectrum and frequency among children with Noonan, Costello, and cardio-facio-cutaneous syndromes
Christian P. Kratz,Lude Franke,Hartmut Peters,Nicolai Kohlschmidt,B Kazmierczak,U Finckh,A Bier,B Eichhorn,C Blank,Cornelia Kraus,Jürgen Kohlhase,Silke Pauli,G Wildhardt,Kerstin Kutsche,B Auber,A Christmann,Nadine Bachmann,Diana Mitter,F W Cremer,Kenneth H. TL;DR: These data comprise the first quantitative evidence documenting that the germline mutations in Ras signalling pathway genes are associated with increased risks of both childhood leukaemia and solid tumours.
