Tuning the Pseudospin Polarization of Graphene by a Pseudomagnetic Field
A. Georgi,Péter Nemes-Incze,Ramon Carrillo-Bastos,Ramon Carrillo-Bastos,Daiara Faria,Daiara Faria,Silvia Viola Kusminskiy,Silvia Viola Kusminskiy,Dawei Zhai,Martin Schneider,D. Subramaniam,T. Mashoff,Nils M. Freitag,Marcus Liebmann,Marco Pratzer,Ludger Wirtz,Colin R. Woods,Roman V. Gorbachev,Yang Cao,Kostya S. Novoselov,Nancy Sandler,Markus Morgenstern +21 more
TL;DR: It is shown that a signature of the pseudomagnetic field is a local sublattice symmetry breaking observable as a redistribution of the local density of states in graphene, which can be interpreted as a polarization of graphene's pseudospin due to a strain induced pseudom magnetic field.
Journal ArticleDOI
Wave-Function Mapping of Graphene Quantum Dots with Soft Confinement
D. Subramaniam,Florian Libisch,Yan Li,Christian Pauly,V. Geringer,R. Reiter,T. Mashoff,Marcus Liebmann,Joachim Burgdörfer,Carsten Busse,Thomas Michely,Riccardo Mazzarello,Marco Pratzer,Markus Morgenstern +13 more
TL;DR: It is found that the interaction with the substrate near the edge of the island gradually opens a gap in the Dirac cone, which implies soft-wall confinement, which results in highly symmetric wave functions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Probing two topological surface bands of Sb 2 Te 3 by spin-polarized photoemission spectroscopy
Christian Pauly,Gustav Bihlmayer,Marcus Liebmann,Martin Grob,A. Georgi,D. Subramaniam,M. R. Scholz,Jaime Sánchez-Barriga,Andrei Varykhalov,Stefan Blügel,Oliver Rader,Markus Morgenstern +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the electronic structure and spin texture of the surface states of the topological insulator Sb${}_{2}$Te${}-3} were mapped using high-resolution spin and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrical transport and low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy of microsoldered graphene
V. Geringer,D. Subramaniam,A. K. Michel,B. N. Szafranek,Daniel Schall,A. Georgi,T. Mashoff,Daniel Neumaier,Marcus Liebmann,Markus Morgenstern +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of polymethylmethacrylate on graphene has been investigated using micro-soldering, revealing a doping effect with a n-type dopant density Δn of up to Δn=3.8×1012 cm−2 but negligible influence on mobility and hysteresis.

Electrical transport and low-temperature scanning tunneling microscopy of microsoldered graphene
V. Geringer,D. Subramaniam,A. K. Michel,B. N. Szafranek,Daniel Schall,A. Georgi,T. Mashoff,Daniel Neumaier,Marcus Liebmann,Markus Morgenstern +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of PMMA on graphene flakes was investigated using micro-soldering, revealing a doping effect of up to 3.8x10^12 1/cm^2, but negligible influence on mobility and gate voltage induced hysteresis.
