3D Bioprinted Artificial Trachea with Epithelial Cells and Chondrogenic-Differentiated Bone Marrow-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Sang-Woo Bae,Kang-Woog Lee,Jae-Hyun Park,Junhee Lee,Cho-Rok Jung,JunJie Yu,Hwi-Yool Kim,Dae Hyun Kim +7 more
TL;DR: 3D bioprinted artificial trachea were effective in respiratory epithelium regeneration and neo-cartilage formation was observed only in a localized area and d-MSC showed a relatively higher level of glycosaminoglycan accumulation and chondrogenic marker gene expression than MSC in vitro.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental Tracheal Replacement Using 3-dimensional Bioprinted Artificial Trachea with Autologous Epithelial Cells and Chondrocytes.
Jae-Hyun Park,Jeong-Kee Yoon,Jung Bok Lee,Young Min Shin,Kang-Woog Lee,Sang-Woo Bae,Sang-Woo Bae,Junhee Lee,JunJie Yu,Cho-Rok Jung,Young-Nam Youn,Hwi-Yool Kim,Dae Hyun Kim +12 more
TL;DR: The artificial trachea created via a tissue engineering method using 3D bio-printing was effective in the regeneration of respiratory epithelium, but not in cartilage regeneration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of a Shape-Memory Tube to Prevent Vascular Stenosis
Yongcheol Shin,Jung Bok Lee,Dae Hyun Kim,Taeyoung Kim,Grant C. B. Alexander,Young Min Shin,Ju Young Park,Sewoom Baek,Jeong-Kee Yoon,Yong Jae Lee,Gyeung Mi Seon,Mi Hee Lee,Mi Lan Kang,Woo Soon Jang,Jong Chul Park,Ho-Wook Jun,YongTae Kim,Hak-Joon Sung +17 more
TL;DR: Improved patency in a porcine vessel for 18 d is demonstrated while occlusive vascular remodeling occurs, and insights will help advance vascular graft design.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transfer-molded wrappable microneedle meshes for perivascular drug delivery.
Ji Yong Lee,Dae Hyun Kim,KangJu Lee,Il Ho Seo,Seung Hyun Park,Eui Hwa Jang,Youngjoo Park,Young-Nam Youn,WonHyoung Ryu +8 more
TL;DR: Ex vivo and in vivo animal studies demonstrate enhanced drug delivery efficiency, efficacy for IH reduction, and safety of MN mesh, and wrappable MN meshes effectively suppressed side effects such as IH due to mechanical constriction, loss of toxic drug to the surroundings, and cell death that were frequently observed with other previous perivascular drug delivery devices.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microchannel network hydrogel induced ischemic blood perfusion connection
Jung Bok Lee,Dae Hyun Kim,Jeong-Kee Yoon,Dan Bi Park,Hye-Seon Kim,Young Min Shin,Wooyeol Baek,Mi-Lan Kang,Hyun-Jung Kim,Hyun-Jung Kim,Hak-Joon Sung +10 more
TL;DR: A microchannel-patterned gelatin hydrogel that is able to rescue mouse and porcine models of hindlimb ischemia and reveal hypoxia and neighboring vessels as major causative factors of the beneficial function is presented.
