Journal ArticleDOI
Spin Hall Magnetoresistance Induced by a Nonequilibrium Proximity Effect
Hiroyasu Nakayama,Matthias Althammer,Yan Ting Chen,Ken-ichi Uchida,Ken-ichi Uchida,Y. Kajiwara,Daisuke Kikuchi,Toshiro Ohtani,Stephan Geprägs,Matthias Opel,Saburo Takahashi,Rudolf Gross,Gerrit E. W. Bauer,Gerrit E. W. Bauer,Sebastian T. B. Goennenwein,Eiji Saitoh +15 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the effect originates from concerted actions of the direct and inverse spin Hall effects and therefore it is called "spin Hall magnetoresistance."
Journal ArticleDOI
Generation of spin currents by surface plasmon resonance
Ken-ichi Uchida,Hiroto Adachi,Daisuke Kikuchi,Shun Ito,Zhiyong Qiu,Sadamichi Maekawa,Eiji Saitoh +6 more
TL;DR: This work shows that, when the Au nanoparticles fulfill the surface-plasmon-resonance conditions, spin currents are generated across the Pt/BiY2Fe5O12 interface, opening the door to plasmonic spintronics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhancement of Spin-Seebeck Voltage by Spin-Hall Thermopile
TL;DR: In this article, the spin-Seebeck effect was enhanced by introducing a thermopile structure consisting of two different metals with positive and negative spin-Hall angles, which can be used to construct spin and heat sensors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of induced paramagnetic moments in Pt on Y 3 Fe 5 O 12 via x-ray magnetic circular dichroism
Takashi Kikkawa,Motohiro Suzuki,Jun Okabayashi,Ken-ichi Uchida,Daisuke Kikuchi,Zhiyong Qiu,Eiji Saitoh +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic moments in an ultrathin Pt film on a ferrimagnetic insulator were investigated at high magnetic fields and low temperatures by means of x-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD), and the observed XMCD intensity was much greater than the intensity expected from the Pauli paramagnetism of Pt when the Pt film is attached to YIG.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interfacial ferromagnetism and atomic structures in high-temperature grown Fe3O4/Pt/Fe3O4 epitaxial trilayers
Takashi Kikkawa,Motohiro Suzuki,Rafael Ramos,Myriam H. Aguirre,Jun Okabayashi,Ken-ichi Uchida,Ken-ichi Uchida,Irene Lucas,A. Anadón,A. Anadón,Daisuke Kikuchi,Pedro A. Algarabel,Pedro A. Algarabel,Luis Morellón,M. R. Ibarra,Eiji Saitoh +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) at the Pt L 3, 2 -edges at various temperatures from 300 K to 12 K was investigated.
