TL;DR: The COVID STEROID trial as discussed by the authors evaluated the effects of low-dose hydrocortisone on patient-centred outcomes in adults with COVID-19 and severe hypoxia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Computed tomography quantification of emphysema in people living with HIV and uninfected controls
Andreas Ronit,Thomas K. Kristensen,Vilde S Hoseth,Dalia Abou-Kassem,Jørgen Tobias Kühl,Thomas Benfield,Jan Gerstoft,Shoaib Afzal,Børge G. Nordestgaard,Børge G. Nordestgaard,Jens D Lundgren,Jørgen Vestbo,Klaus F. Kofoed,Susanne Dam Nielsen +13 more
TL;DR: Breathlessness and sputum production were more common in PLWH with emphysema, and emphySEma seemed to be more prevalent inPLWH with airflow limitation, while well-treated HIV infection is not associated with empysema.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phase 1 study to access safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of kynurenine in healthy volunteers.
Mohammad Al-Mahdi Al-Karagholi,Jakob Møller Hansen,Dalia Abou-Kassem,Anna Koldbro Hansted,Kumari Ubhayasekera,Jonas Bergquist,László Vécsei,Inger Jansen-Olesen,Messoud Ashina +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of L-kynurenine (LKYN) in humans have not been previously investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term opioid treatment and endocrine measures in patients with cancer-related pain: a systematic review
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that patients with cancer-related pain in L-TOT may have gonadal hypofunction causing sexual dysfunction, which may be correlated with opioid dose level, and high serum concentrations of cortisol were positively correlated with high opioid dose levels.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term opioid treatment and endocrine measures in chronic non-cancer pain patients.
Pernille D. K. Diasso,Dalia Abou-Kassem,Susanne Dam Nielsen,Katharina M. Main,Per Sjøgren,Geana Paula Kurita +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the associations between long-term opioid treatment and endocrine measures in CNCP patients and found associations between L-TOT, androgens, growth hormone and prolactin in patients with chronic non-cancer pain compared to controls.
