Fast sulfate formation from oxidation of SO 2 by NO 2 and HONO observed in Beijing haze
Junfeng Wang,Junfeng Wang,Jingyi Li,Jianhuai Ye,Jian Zhao,Yangzhou Wu,Yangzhou Wu,Jianlin Hu,Dantong Liu,Dongyang Nie,Dongyang Nie,Fuzhen Shen,Xiangpeng Huang,Dandan Huang,Dongsheng Ji,Xu Sun,Weiqi Xu,Jianping Guo,Shaojie Song,Yiming Qin,Pengfei Liu,Jay R. Turner,Hyun Chul Lee,Sungwoo Hwang,Hong Liao,Scot T. Martin,Qi Zhang,Mindong Chen,Yele Sun,Xinlei Ge,Daniel J. Jacob +30 more
TL;DR: Evidence is shown from field observations of a haze event that rapid oxidation of SO2 by nitrogen dioxide and nitrous acid takes place, producing nitrous oxide together with sulfate, which could provide an explanation for sulfate formation under some winter haze conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heterogeneous SO2 Oxidation in Sulfate Formation by Photolysis of Particulate Nitrate
TL;DR: Heterogeneous oxidation of sulfur dioxide (SO2) is suggested to be one of the most important pathways for sulfate formation during extreme haze events in China, yet the exact mechanism remains high.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characteristics and sources of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in Shanghai during summer: Implications of regional transport
Yuehui Liu,Hongli Wang,Shengao Jing,Yaqin Gao,Yarong Peng,Shengrong Lou,Tiantao Cheng,Shikang Tao,Li Li,Yingjie Li,Dandan Huang,Qian Wang,Jingyu An +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the VOC characteristics and sources of Shanghai were investigated with a focus on the relative contributions of local emissions and regional transport, as well as on the potential source regions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aqueous-phase photochemical oxidation and direct photolysis of vanillin – a model compound of methoxy phenols from biomass burning
TL;DR: In this paper, aqueous-phase reactions of a methoxy phenol can lead to substantial amount of secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation from biomass burning, and the contribution of SOA formation from reactions of methoxyphenols is not considered.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluating Commonsense in Pre-Trained Language Models
TL;DR: This article study the commonsense ability of GPT, BERT, XLNet, and RoBERTa by testing them on seven challenging benchmarks, finding that language modeling and its variants are effective objectives for promoting models' commonsense capability while bi-directional context and larger training set are bonuses.
