Upregulation of BST-2 by Type I Interferons Reduces the Capacity of Vpu To Protect HIV-1-Infected Cells from NK Cell Responses.
Jérémie Prévost,Suzanne Pickering,Mitchell J. Mumby,Halima Medjahed,Gabrielle Gendron-Lepage,Gloria G. Delgado,Brennan S. Dirk,Jimmy D. Dikeakos,Christina M. Stürzel,Daniel Sauter,Frank Kirchhoff,Frederic Bibollet-Ruche,Beatrice H. Hahn,Mathieu Dubé,Daniel Kaufmann,Daniel Kaufmann,Stuart J. D. Neil,Andrés Finzi,Andrés Finzi,Jonathan Richard +19 more
TL;DR: Evidence is provided that under physiological conditions, BST-2 is preferentially targeted by Vpu over NTB-A and PVR, and type I IFNs decrease Vpu’s polyfunctionality by upregulating BST- 2, thus reducing its capacity to protect HIV-1-infected cells from NK cell responses.
BookDOI
Governance and the city : an empirical exploration into global determinants of urban performance
TL;DR: In this article, the authors contribute to the field of urban governance and globalization through an empirically-based exploration of determinants of the performance of cities, and construct a preliminary worldwide database for cities, containing variables and indicators of globalization (at the country and city level), city governance, city performance (access and quality of infrastructure service delivery), as well as other relevant city characteristics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Daily variations of gut microbial translocation markers in ART-treated HIV-infected people
Jing Ouyang,Stéphane Isnard,John Lin,Brandon Fombuena,Brandon Fombuena,Debashree Chatterjee,Tomas Raul Wiche Salinas,Delphine Planas,Amélie Cattin,Augustine Fert,Etiene Moreira Gabriel,Laurence Raymond Marchand,Yonglong Zhang,Malcolm Finkelman,Yaokai Chen,Daniel Kaufmann,Nicolas Cermakian,Petronela Ancuta,Jean-Pierre Routy +18 more
TL;DR: Time of blood collection matters for the proper evaluation for LPS and I-FABP as markers for the risk of inflammatory non-AIDS co-morbidities, and insights are instrumental for orienting clinical investigations in PLWH.
