Computer simulation of displacement cascade effects in metals

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a review of the recent advances in using computer simulation to investigate the mechanisms associated with defect production by displacement cascades in metals and show that the efficiency for production of Frenkel defects is much less than the estimates given by earlier binary-collision models.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prospects for clustering and lensing measurements with forthcoming intensity mapping and optical surveys

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explore the potential of using intensity mapping surveys (MeerKAT, SKA) and optical galaxy surveys (DES, LSST) to detect HI clustering and weak gravitational lensing of 21cm emission in auto- and cross-correlation.
Journal ArticleDOI

The collapse of vacancy clusters: A molecular dynamics study

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used molecular dynamics to investigate the defects produced by the collapse of vacancy clusters in a non-equilibrium f.c. model representing copper, the void transformed to a stacking-fault tetrahedron, the nature of which is described in section 3.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of mass of the primary knock-on atom on displacement cascade debris in α -iron

TL;DR: In this paper, molecular dynamics simulations of displacement cascades created in α-iron (Fe) by primary knock-on atoms (PKAs) with energy from 5 to 20 keV and mass chosen to represent C, Fe and Bi are presented.
