Estrogen induces a systemic growth factor through an estrogen receptor-alpha-dependent mechanism
TL;DR: Treatment of progesterone-primed mice with estradiol stimulates production of a systemic factor that is capable of inducing uterine stromal cell proliferation and that this systemic factor is produced by an ERα-dependent mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Proteomic analysis of the effects of aged garlic extract and its FruArg component on lipopolysaccharide-induced neuroinflammatory response in microglial cells.
Hui Zhou,Zhe Qu,Valeri V. Mossine,Dineo L. Nknolise,Jilong Li,Zhenzhou Chen,Jianlin Cheng,C. Michael Greenlief,Thomas P. Mawhinney,Paula N. Brown,Kevin L. Fritsche,Mark Hannink,Dennis B. Lubahn,Grace Y. Sun,Zezong Gu +14 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that AGE and FruArg attenuate neuroinflammatory responses and promote resilience in LPS-activated BV-2 cells by suppressing NO production and by regulating expression of multiple protein targets associated with oxidative stress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inhibition of hedgehog/Gli signaling by botanicals: a review of compounds with potential hedgehog pathway inhibitory activities.
TL;DR: In this review, the available literature on botanical compounds in Hh-related studies is summarized and curcumin, genistein, EGCG, resveratrol, quercetin, baicalen, and apigenin are looked at along with novel compounds isolated from Southeast Asian plants, such as the potent sub-micromolar gitoxigenin derivatives.
Book ChapterDOI
Paracrine mechanisms of mouse mammary ductal growth.
TL;DR: The role of epithelial versus stromal ER in mammary ductal-alveolar growth is reviewed to assess the importance of paracrine mechanisms.

Androgen receptor proteins, recombinant DNA molecules coding for such, and use of such compositions
TL;DR: In this paper, the amino acid sequences of human androgen receptor protein and polypeptides and proteins having substantially the same biological activity as HOGR protein were described and methods for the production and use of such compositions were also disclosed.
