Journal ArticleDOI
Microarray analysis of efflux pump genes in multidrug-resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis during stress induced by common anti-tuberculous drugs.
Anuj Kumar Gupta,Vishwa Mohan Katoch,Devendra Singh Chauhan,Rahul Sharma,Mradula Singh,Krishnamurthy Venkatesan,V. D. Sharma +6 more
TL;DR: It was observed that a simultaneous overexpression of efflux pump genes Rv2459, Rv3728, and Rv3065 was associated with resistance to the combination of isoniazid and ethambutol, and these drugs, along with streptomycin, were identified to group together, where efflux-mediated drug resistance appears to be important in M. tuberculosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Proteogenomic Analysis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis By High Resolution Mass Spectrometry
Dhanashree S. Kelkar,Dhirendra Kumar,Praveen Kumar,Lavanya Balakrishnan,Babylakshmi Muthusamy,Amit Kumar Yadav,Priyanka Shrivastava,Arivusudar Marimuthu,S. Anand,Hema Sundaram,Reena Kingsbury,H. C. Harsha,Bipin G. Nair,T. S. Keshava Prasad,T. S. Keshava Prasad,Devendra Singh Chauhan,Kiran Katoch,Vishwa Mohan Katoch,P. Kumar,Raghothama Chaerkady,Srinivasan Ramachandran,Debasis Dash,Akhilesh Pandey +22 more
TL;DR: An in-depth proteogenomic analysis of the M. tuberculosis H37Rv strain using Fourier transform mass spectrometry with high resolution at both MS and tandem MS levels identified 3176 proteins from Mycobacterium tuberculosis representing ∼80% of its total predicted gene count.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predominance of ancestral lineages of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in India.
M. Cristina Gutierrez,Niyaz Ahmed,Eve Willery,Sujatha Narayanan,Seyed E. Hasnain,Devendra Singh Chauhan,Vishwa Mohan Katoch,Véronique Vincent,Camille Locht,Philip Supply +9 more
TL;DR: Molecular epidemiologic findings suggest an ancient focus of TB, and suggest it may be related to infectious disease-related coronavirus-related infections such as pneumonia and tuberculosis.
Journal Article
Isolation of Mycobacterium bovis & M. tuberculosis from cattle of some farms in north India--possible relevance in human health.
K Srivastava,Devendra Singh Chauhan,Priyanka Gupta,H B Singh,Vishwas Sharma,V.S. Yadav,Sreekumaran,S. S. Thakral,J S Dharamdheeran,P Nigam,H. K. Prasad,V. M. Katoch +11 more
TL;DR: Among the samples analyzed, PSLG was found to be most suitable specimen for isolation of M. tuberculosis complex from cattle and is thus of diagnostic importance.
Journal Article
Molecular typing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates from different parts of India based on IS6110 element polymorphism using RFLP analysis
Devendra Singh Chauhan,Vishwas Sharma,Deepti Parashar,Aradhana Chauhan,D.P. Singh,H B Singh,Roma Rani Das,B M Aggarwal,Bharti Malhotra,Amita Jain,Meera Sharma,V K Kataria,Jake K. Aggarwal,Mohamad Hanif,Aruna Shahani,V. M. Katoch +15 more
TL;DR: IS6110 DNA based fingerprinting could be a potentially useful tool for investigating the epidemiology of tuberculosis in India using restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis.
