Journal ArticleDOI

Assay Optimization for the Objective Quantification of Human Multilineage Colony Forming Units.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors demonstrate that the addition of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), macrophage (M)-CSF, and granulocytes-macrophage CSF into a collagen-based MegaCult medium containing IL-3, IL-6, SCF, EPO, and TPO allows for the differentiation of common myeloid progenitors into expected proportions of colonies containing granulocytic (G), monocytic(M), erythroid (E), and megakaryocytical (Mk) cells, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

The importance of National Blood Foundation funding.

TL;DR: The research award that I received from the National Blood Foundation was very important to me early in my career for several reasons; the funding itself was important for performing the experiments proposed, and the data obtained have played a role in much of the research that has been performed in my laboratory since that time.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure-function analysis of the role of megakaryoblastic leukemia 1 in megakaryocyte polyploidization

TL;DR: In this article , the authors used the mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) of propidium iodide to identify megakaryocyte polyploidization and showed that the reduction in MFI was statistically significant for dKO cells (P=0.01, n=4).
