Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of intravenous glucose on dopaminergic function in the human brain in vivo.

TL;DR: Gender differences were not among the a priori hypotheses of the present study and, therefore, they must be considered to be preliminary findings, and postulate that this observation is a reflection of an interaction between glucose, sex steroids (estrogen), leptin, and dopamine.
Journal ArticleDOI

MMP-13 Regulates Growth of Wound Granulation Tissue and Modulates Gene Expression Signatures Involved in Inflammation, Proteolysis, and Cell Viability

TL;DR: Evidence is provided for an important role for MMP-13 in wound healing by coordinating cellular activities important in the growth and maturation of granulation tissue, including myofibroblast function, inflammation, angiogenesis, and proteolysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effects of equal caloric high fat and western diet on metabolic syndrome, oxidative stress and vascular endothelial function in mice.

TL;DR: It remains to be determined whether high fat rather than Western diet exacerbates the development of obesity and other characteristics of metabolic syndrome and vascular function.
