Colorectal cancer risk variants at 8q23.3 and 11q23.1 are associated with disease phenotype in APC mutation carriers
Zeinab Ghorbanoghli,Marry H. Nieuwenhuis,Jeanine J. Houwing-Duistermaat,Shantie Jagmohan-Changur,Frederik J. Hes,Carli M. J. Tops,Anja Wagner,Cora M. Aalfs,Senno Verhoef,E. B. Gomez Garcia,Rolf H. Sijmons,Fred H. Menko,Tom G.W. Letteboer,Nicoline Hoogerbrugge,T. van Wezel,Hans F. A. Vasen,Juul T. Wijnen +16 more
TL;DR: A trend of association is found of association of two of the tested SNPs with the ≥100 adenoma phenotype: the C alleles of rs16892766 and rs3802842, which may partly explain the phenotypic variability in families with the same APC gene defect.
Journal Article
[Genetics of colorectal cancer. I. Non-polyposis and polyposis forms of hereditary colorectal cancer].
TL;DR: It is possible in approximately half the families with HNPCC or FAP in patients with colorectal cancer to demonstrate the causative gene defect and by blood testing of healthy relatives to determine who is and is not a carrier of this hereditary condition.

Hes +23 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the contribution of myH associated polyposis coli (MAP) associated with colorectal cancer in the Netherlands, and the prevalence of colonic and extracolonic manifestations in MAP patients.
