Fluorographene: A Two‐Dimensional Counterpart of Teflon
Rahul R. Nair,Wencai Ren,Rashid Jalil,Ibtsam Riaz,Vasyl G. Kravets,L. Britnell,Peter Blake,Fredrik Schedin,A. S. Mayorov,Shengjun Yuan,Mikhail I. Katsnelson,Hui-Ming Cheng,Wlodek Strupinski,Lyubov G. Bulusheva,Alexander V. Okotrub,Irina V. Grigorieva,Alexander N. Grigorenko,Kostya S. Novoselov,Andre K. Geim +18 more
TL;DR: F fluorographene is a high-quality insulator that inherits the mechanical strength of graphene, exhibiting a Young's modulus of 100 N m(-1) and sustaining strains of 15%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Graphene Spin Valve Devices
TL;DR: In this paper, soft magnetic NiFe electrodes have been used to inject polarized spins into graphene, and a 10% change in resistance has been observed as the electrodes switch from the parallel to the antiparallel state.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sensitivity of collective plasmon modes of gold nanoresonators to local environment
TL;DR: This work presents what it believes to be the first experimental study of the optical response of collective plasmon resonances in regular arrays of nanoresonators to local environment and shows that the phase sensitivity of the collective resonances can be more than 2 orders of magnitude better than the best amplitude sensitivity ofthe same nanodot array.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluating arbitrary strain configurations and doping in graphene with Raman spectroscopy
Niclas S. Mueller,Sebastian Heeg,Sebastian Heeg,Miriam Peña Alvarez,Patryk Kusch,Soeren Wasserroth,Nick Clark,Fredrik Schedin,John Parthenios,Konstantinos Papagelis,Konstantinos Papagelis,Costas Galiotis,Costas Galiotis,Martin Kalbac,Aravind Vijayaraghavan,Uwe Huebner,Roman V. Gorbachev,Otakar Frank,Stephanie Reich +18 more
TL;DR: In this article, a correlation analysis of the 2D and G frequencies of the Raman spectrum of Graphene was performed to obtain the local hydrostatic strain, shear strain and doping without any assumption on the strain configuration prior to the analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dual-Scattering Near-Field Microscope for Correlative Nanoimaging of SERS and Electromagnetic Hotspots.
Patryk Kusch,Stefan Mastel,Niclas S. Mueller,Nieves Morquillas Azpiazu,Sebastian Heeg,Roman V. Gorbachev,Fredrik Schedin,Uwe Hübner,Jose Ignacio Pascual,Stephanie Reich,Rainer Hillenbrand,Rainer Hillenbrand +11 more
TL;DR: A grating spectrometer is implemented into a scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscope for mapping of both the elastically and inelastically scattered light from the near- field probe, demonstrating with nanoscale spatial resolution that the enhanced Raman scattering from the tip is strongly correlated with its enhanced elastic scattering.
