Journal ArticleDOI

Association of elastin gene polymorphism to age-related macular degeneration and polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy.

TL;DR: ELN is associated with AMD in Japanese and the findings suggest that ELN is a susceptibility gene for tAMD but not for PCV, which is opposite to that reported in a previous study that elastin gene is the susceptibility gene in PCV but notfor tAMD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Generation of a transgenic animal model of hyperthyroid Graves' disease.

TL;DR: Estimation of the human TSAb in mice resulted in various manifestations of hyperthyroidism including increased free thyroxine levels with concomitantly decreased TSH levels, increased thyroid uptake of technetium pertechnetate, hyperthermia and thyroid hyperplasia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation of Epstein-Barr-Virus-Transformed Lymphocytes Producing IgG Class Monoclonal Antibodies Using a Magnetic Cell Separator (MACS): Preparation of Thyroid-Stimulating IgG Antibodies from Patients with Graves′ Disease

TL;DR: Four independent B cell clones producing IgG class monoclonal thyroid-stimulating antibodies (TSAb) from three patients with Graves' disease were obtained, suggesting independence of TSAb-producing lymphocytes from those producing TBII.
