Shall we really say goodbye to first rank symptoms
Andreas Heinz,Martin Voss,Stephen M. Lawrie,Aaron L. Mishara,Michael Bauer,Juergen Gallinat,Georg Juckel,Undine E. Lang,Michael A. Rapp,Peter Falkai,Werner Strik,J.H. Krystal,Anissa Abi-Dargham,Silvana Galderisi +13 more
TL;DR: The importance of first rank symptoms of schizophrenia may indeed be scaled down to a degree that the occurrence of a single FRS alone should not suffice to diagnose schizophrenia, but, on the other hand, absence of FRS should be regarded as a warning sign that the diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder is not warranted and requires specific care to rule out other causes.
Journal ArticleDOI
The bipolar disorder prodrome revisited: Is there a symptomatic pattern?
Eike Zeschel,Christoph U. Correll,Ida S. Haussleiter,Seza Krüger-Özgürdal,Karolina Leopold,Andrea Pfennig,Andreas Bechdolf,Michael Bauer,Georg Juckel +8 more
TL;DR: The pre-depressive prodrome lasted longer than the pre-manic one, but severity and frequency did not differ significantly, and links between mood swings and subsequent BD were found.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cortisol, platelet serotonin content, and platelet activity in patients with major depression and type 2 diabetes: an exploratory investigation.
Daniela Zahn,Frank Petrak,L. Franke,Anna-Karolina Hägele,Georg Juckel,Florian Lederbogen,Horst Neubauer,Christine Norra,Idun Uhl,Stephan Herpertz +9 more
TL;DR: Associations between cortisol parameters, platelet serotonin (5-HT) content, and platelet activity markers in patients with newly diagnosed major depression and/or Type 2 diabetes compared with healthy controls are examined to suggest group differences in cortisol or 5-HT as well as group-specific associations of cortisol or 4-HT with platelet markers might be of limited importance in the shared pathways of T2DM and depression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pathways to care in subjects at high risk for psychotic disorders - a European perspective.
Heinrich Graf von Reventlow,Seza Krüger-Özgürdal,Stephan Ruhrmann,Frauke Schultze-Lutter,Frauke Schultze-Lutter,Andreas Heinz,Paul Patterson,Paul Patterson,Markus Heinimaa,Peter Dingemans,Paul French,Max Birchwood,Raimo K. R. Salokangas,Don H. Linszen,Don H. Linszen,Anthony P. Morrison,Joachim Klosterkötter,Georg Juckel +17 more
TL;DR: The study underlines the need for regionally adapted implementation of early detection and intervention programs within respective mental health and health care networks, including enhancing public awareness of early psychosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Auditory Evoked Dipole Source Activity: Indicator of Central Serotonergic Dysfunction in Psychiatric Patients?
Ulrich Hegerl,Georg Juckel +1 more
TL;DR: Arguments are presented for the hypothesis that the stimulus-intensity dependence of the auditory-evoked N1/P2 component may be a noninvasive indicator of behaviorally relevant aspects of central serotonergic activity.
