Anodal tDCS over left parietal cortex expedites recovery from stroke-induced apraxic imitation deficits: a pilot study.
Jana M. Ant,Eva Niessen,Elisabeth I.S. Achilles,Elisabeth I.S. Achilles,Jochen Saliger,Hans Karbe,Peter H. Weiss,Peter H. Weiss,Gereon R. Fink,Gereon R. Fink +9 more
TL;DR: Data from this pilot study show that repetitive, anodal tDCS over left PPC combined with a standardized motor training expedites recovery from imitation deficits in LH stroke patients with apraxia (relative to sham stimulation).
Journal ArticleDOI
Ergebnisse der 10. Erhebung zur Struktur der neurologischen Kliniken der Akutversorgung in Deutschland
Michael Schroeter,A. Engelhardt,Frank Erbguth,A. Ferbert,F. M. Reinhardt,P. Vieregge,Claus-W. Wallesch,B. Widder,Gereon R. Fink +8 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Level of education mitigates the impact of tau pathology on neuronal function
Merle C Hoenig,Gérard N. Bischof,Özgür A. Onur,Özgür A. Onur,Juraj Kukolja,Frank Jessen,Frank Jessen,Klaus Fliessbach,Klaus Fliessbach,Bernd Neumaier,Gereon R. Fink,Gereon R. Fink,Elke Kalbe,Alexander Drzezga,Alexander Drzezga,Alexander Drzezga,Thilo van Eimeren,Thilo van Eimeren,Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative +18 more
TL;DR: In patients with higher levels of education, tau pathology is less paralleled by regional and remote neuronal dysfunction, and the data suggest that early life-time factors such as level of education support resilience mechanisms, which ameliorate AD-related effects later in life.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effects of thalamic and posterior subthalamic deep brain stimulation on speech in patients with essential tremor – A prospective, randomized, doubleblind crossover study
Johannes Becker,Tabea Thies,Jan Niklas Petry-Schmelzer,Till A. Dembek,Paul Reker,Doris Mücke,Martine Grice,Veerle Visser-Vandewalle,Gereon R. Fink,Michael T. Barbe +9 more
TL;DR: Speech in ET patients without DBS can be impaired, dependent on patient's individual characteristics, and the PSA can be considered an alternative DBS target in ET without higher risk of dysarthria.
Journal ArticleDOI
MRI detects peripheral nerve and adjacent muscle pathology in non-systemic vasculitic neuropathy (NSVN).
Christian A. Schneider,Alina Sprenger,Kilian Weiss,Karin Slebocki,David Maintz,Gereon R. Fink,Gereon R. Fink,Tobias D. Henning,Helmar C. Lehmann,Thorsten Lichtenstein +9 more
TL;DR: The data provide a proof of concept that MRI can render information about nerve integrity and muscle pathology in NSVN and further studies are warranted to evaluate DTI and multiecho Dixon MRI as surrogate markers in NSvN.
