Journal ArticleDOI
Long-Time Course of Idiopathic Small Fiber Neuropathy
Pia Flossdorf,Walter F. Haupt,Anna Brunn,Martina Deckert,Gereon R. Fink,Helmar C. Lehmann,Gilbert Wunderlich +6 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that SFN represents a benign disease course in the majority of patients without severely limiting the quality of life and repeated diagnostic workup in patients with unknown underlying cause.
Journal ArticleDOI
Subtype-specific statistical causalities in parkinsonian tremor
Esther Florin,Matthias Himmel,Christiane Reck,M. Maarouf,Alfons Schnitzler,Volker Sturm,Gereon R. Fink,Lars Timmermann +7 more
TL;DR: Although tremor activity in tremor-dominant and akinetic-rigid Parkinson's disease patients was clinically similar, statistical causality between tremor electromyogram (EMG) and the subthalamic nucleus was fundamentally different, hypothesize different pathophysiological mechanisms to underlie the generation of tremor in the two subtypes of Parkinson's Disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
"One week on-one week off": efficacy and side effects of dose-intensified temozolomide chemotherapy: experiences of a single center
Norbert Galldiks,Norbert Galldiks,Theresa Berhorn,Tobias Blau,Veronika Dunkl,Gereon R. Fink,Gereon R. Fink,Michael Schroeter +7 more
TL;DR: Treatment with TMZ 7/14 is safe and effective in patients with recurrent or progressive HGG and the rates for PFS and OS at 1 year were 24 and 28 %, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) and voltage-gated potassium KCNQ/Kv7 channels on primary microglia function
Sabine Ulrike Vay,Lea Jessica Flitsch,Monika Rabenstein,Helena Monière,Igor Jakovcevski,Pavle R. Andjus,Dunja Bijelić,Stefan Blaschke,Helene Luise Walter,Gereon R. Fink,Michael Schroeter,Maria Adele Rueger +11 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the HCN current contributes to various microglial functions and impacts on the course of microglia activation, while the Kv7/KCNQ channels affect microglian migration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isoflurane in (Super-) Refractory Status Epilepticus: A Multicenter Evaluation
Henning Stetefeld,Alexander Schaal,Franziska Scheibe,Julia Nichtweiß,Felix Lehmann,Marcus Müller,Stefan T. Gerner,Hagen B. Huttner,Sebastian Luger,Hannah Fuhrer,Julian Bösel,Silvia Schönenberger,Konstantinos Dimitriadis,Bernhard Neumann,Kornelius Fuchs,Gereon R. Fink,Gereon R. Fink,Michael P. Malter +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the association between seizure termination and side effects of isoflurane for the treatment of refractory status epilepticus (RSE) and super-refractory SSE in neurointensive care units (neuro-ICUs) was determined.
