TL;DR: In this article, the FOPI-facility at GSI Darmstadt was used to study collisions of Au on Au at incident energies of 150, 250 and 400 A ·MeV.

The MSU Miniball 4π fragment detection array
R. T. de Souza,N. Carlin,Y. D. Kim,J. Ottarson,L. Phair,D. R. Bowman,C. K. Gelbke,W. G. Gong,W. G. Lynch,R. A. Pelak,Todd E. Peterson,Giacomo Poggi,M. B. Tsang,H.M. Xu +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a compact and highly granular charged particle detection array, covering 89% of 4π in solid angle, is described, which consists of 188 fast-plastic CsI(Tl) phoswich detectors arranged in 11 rings coaxial about the beam axis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Precompound emission of light particles in the reaction O 16 + U 238 at 20 MeV/nucleon
TL;DR: In this paper, double differential cross sections have been measured for energetic particles emitted in reactions of 315 MeV ions on $^{238}\mathrm{U} and it is concluded that the emission of these particles occurs predominantly in fusion-like "central" collisions and at an early stage of the reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wilhelmi,D. Wohlfarth,A. Zhilin +76 more
TL;DR: Using the FOPI facility at GSI Darmstadt complete data of Au on Au collisions at 150[ital A] MeV were collected for charged products at laboratory angles 1--15 to determine the collective energy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Time measurements by means of digital sampling techniques: a study case of 100 ps FWHM time resolution with a 100 MSample/s, 12 bit digitizer
TL;DR: An application of digital sampling techniques is presented which can simplify experiments involving sub-nanosecond time-mark determinations and energy measurements with nuclear detectors, used for Pulse Shape Analysis and Time of Flight measurements in heavy ion experiments.
