TL;DR: In this article, the FOPI-facility at GSI Darmstadt was used to study collisions of Au on Au at incident energies of 150, 250 and 400 A ·MeV.

TL;DR: In this article, pions were measured with the 4π detector FOPI at GSI using the Au on Au reaction at 106 AGeV bombarding energy, and the average pion multiplicities per participant were #### and #### these values are only half as large as extrapolated from the low mass systems studied by Harris et al.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stopping and radial flow in central 58Ni+58Ni collisions between 1A and 2A GeV
Byung-Sik Hong,N. Herrmann,N. Herrmann,James Ritman,D. Best,A. Gobbi,K. D. Hildenbrand,M. Kirejczyk,Y. Leifels,C. Pinkenburg,W. Reisdorf,D. Schüll,U. Sodan,G. S. Wang,T. Wienold,J. P. Alard,V. TL;DR: In this paper, the scaling of the mean rapidity shift of protons established for between 10A and 200A GeV at the Brookhaven AGS and the CERN SPS accelerators energies is valid down to 1AGeV, and the degree of nuclear stopping is discussed; quantum molecular dynamics calculations reproduce the measured proton rapidity spectra for the most central events reasonably well.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this paper, the transverse momentum spectra of pions are well reproduced by adding the pions originating from the Δ -resonance decay to the component of thermal pions, deduced from the high transversal momentum part of the pion spectra.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this paper, the mass distribution of baryon resonances populated in near-central collisions of Au on Au and Ni on Ni is deduced by defolding the pt spectra of charged pions by a method which does not depend on a specific resonance shape.
