Journal Article
Two molecular pathways to transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder.
Charles Spruck,Petra F. Ohneseit,Mirella Gonzalez-Zulueta,David Esrig,Noriomi Miyao,Yvonne C. Tsai,Seth P. Lerner,Christoph Schmutte,Allen S. Yang,Richard J. Cote,Louis Dubeau,Peter W. Nichols,Gregers G. Hermann,Kenneth Steven,Thomas Horn,Donald G. Skinner,Peter A. Jones +16 more
TL;DR: Analysis of several tumor pairs involving a CIS and an invasive cancer provided evidence that the chromosome 9 alteration may in some cases be involved in the progression of CIS to more invasive tumors, in addition to its role in the initiation of T(a) tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comprehensive Transcriptional Analysis of Early-Stage Urothelial Carcinoma
Jakob Hedegaard,Philippe Lamy,Iver Nordentoft,Ferran Algaba,Søren Høyer,Benedicte Parm Ulhøi,Søren Vang,Thomas Reinert,Gregers G. Hermann,Karin Mogensen,Mathilde Borg Houlberg Thomsen,Morten Muhlig Nielsen,Mirari Marquez,Ulrika Segersten,Mattias Aine,Mattias Höglund,Karin Birkenkamp-Demtröder,Niels Fristrup,Michael Borre,Arndt Hartmann,Robert Stöhr,Sven Wach,Bastian Keck,Anna Katharina Seitz,Roman Nawroth,Tobias Maurer,Cane Tulic,Tatjana Simic,Kerstin Junker,Marcus Horstmann,Niels Harving,Astrid Christine Petersen,M. Luz Calle,Ewout W. Steyerberg,Willemien Beukers,Kim E.M. van Kessel,Jørgen Bjerggaard Jensen,Jakob Skou Pedersen,Per-Uno Malmström,Núria Malats,Francisco X. Real,Ellen C. Zwarthoff,Torben F. Ørntoft,Lars Dyrskjøt +43 more
TL;DR: A comprehensive transcriptional analysis of 460 early-stage urothelial carcinomas revealed frequent mutations in genes encoding proteins involved in chromatin organization and cytoskeletal functions and suggested the identification of subclasses in NMIBC may offer better prognostication and treatment selection based on subclass assignment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photodynamic diagnosis of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer with hexaminolevulinate cystoscopy: a meta-analysis of detection and recurrence based on raw data
Maximilian Burger,H. Barton Grossman,Michael J. Droller,Joerg Schmidbauer,Gregers G. Hermann,Octavian Dragoescu,Eleanor R. Ray,Yves Fradet,Alexander Karl,Juan Pablo Burgués,J. Alfred Witjes,Arnulf Stenzl,Patrice Jichlinski,Dieter Jocham +13 more
TL;DR: This meta-analysis confirms that HAL BL cystoscopy significantly improves the detection of bladder tumours leading to a reduction of recurrence at 9-12 mo, and is evident in patients with Ta, T1, CIS, primary, and recurrent cancer.
Journal Article
Microsatellite Instability in Bladder Cancer
Mirella Gonzalez-Zulueta,J. Michael Ruppert,Kaori Tokino,Yvonne C. Tsai,Charles Spruck,Noriomi Miyao,Peter W. Nichols,Gregers G. Hermann,Thomas Horn,Kenneth Steven,Ian C. Summerhayes,David Sidransky,Peter A. Jones +12 more
TL;DR: Somatic instability at microsatellite repeats was detected in 6 of 200 transitional cell carcinomas of the bladder, suggesting that these alterations can occur early in bladder tumorigenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Voiding patterns and prevalence of incontinence in women. A questionnaire survey
P. Sommer,T. Bauer,K. K. Nielsen,Erik Kristensen,Gregers G. Hermann,K. Steven,Jørgen Nordling +6 more
TL;DR: There was a positive correlation between the occurrence of stress incontinence and childbirth in the group as a whole and the tendency to wear nappies or sanitary towels increased with age, but the increase was not statistically significant.
