Enzyme Replacement Therapy for Murine Hypophosphatasia
José Luis Millán,Sonoko Narisawa,Isabelle Lemire,Thomas P. Loisel,Guy Boileau,Pierre Leonard,Svetlana Gramatikova,Robert Terkeltaub,Nancy P. Camacho,Marc D. McKee,Philippe Crine,Michael P. Whyte +11 more
TL;DR: Babies with the infantile form of HPP often die with severe rickets and sometimes hypercalcemia and vitamin B6‐dependent seizures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pex mRNA is localized in developing mouse osteoblasts and odontoblasts.
Andréa Frota Ruchon,Mieczyslaw Marcinkiewicz,Geraldine Siegfried,Harriet S. Tenenhouse,Luc DesGroseillers,Philippe Crine,Guy Boileau +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that Pex mRNA is expressed in bones and teeth and suggests that this putative endopeptidase plays an important role in the development of these tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neutral endopeptidase inhibits prostate cancer cell migration by blocking focal adhesion kinase signaling
Makoto Sumitomo,Ruoqian Shen,Marc Walburg,Jie Dai,Yiping Geng,Daniel Navarro,Guy Boileau,Christos N. Papandreou,Filippo G. Giancotti,Beatrice S. Knudsen,David M. Nanus +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that NEP can inhibit FAK phosphorylation on tyrosine and PC cell migration through multiple pathways and suggest that cell migration which contributes to invasion and metastases in PC cells can be regulated by NEP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Developmental expression and tissue distribution of Phex protein: effect of the Hyp mutation and relationship to bone markers.
Andréa Frota Ruchon,Harriet S. Tenenhouse,Mieczyslaw Marcinkiewicz,Geraldine Siegfried,Jane E. Aubin,Luc DesGroseillers,Philippe Crine,Guy Boileau +7 more
TL;DR: The results are consistent with the hypothesis that loss of Phex function affects the mineralizing activity of osteoblasts rather than their differentiation, and suggest a correlation between Phex expression and bone formation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of neutral endopeptidase (enkephalinase) in heterologous COS-1 cells. Characterization of the recombinant enzyme and evidence for a glutamic acid residue at the active site.
A. Devault,Christiane Nault,Max Zollinger,M C Fournie-Zaluski,B P Roques,Philippe Crine,Guy Boileau +6 more
TL;DR: An expression vector is constructed in which the rabbit kidney cDNA encoding the entire neutral endopeptidase sequence is introduced downstream from the SV40 virus early promotor, which identifies Glu-584 as one of the important residues responsible for the catalytic activity of the enzyme.
