Journal ArticleDOI
Targeted disruption of IRF-1 or IRF-2 results in abnormal type I IFN gene induction and aberrant lymphocyte development
Toshifumi Matsuyama,Toshifumi Matsuyama,Tohru Kimura,Tohru Kimura,Tohru Kimura,Motoo Kitagawa,Klaus Pfeffer,Klaus Pfeffer,Takatoshi Kawakami,Nobumasa Watanabe,Thomas M. Kündig,Ryuichi Amakawa,Ryuichi Amakawa,Kenji Kishihara,Kenji Kishihara,Andrew Wakeham,Andrew Wakeham,Julia Potter,Julia Potter,Caren Furlonger,Arumugavadivel Narendran,Haruhiko Suzuki,Haruhiko Suzuki,Pamela S. Ohashi,Christopher J. Paige,Tadatsugu Taniguchi,Tak W. Mak,Tak W. Mak +27 more
TL;DR: A profound reduction of TCR alpha beta+CD4-CD8+ T cells in IRF-1-deficient mice, with a thymocyte developmental defect, reveals a critical role for IRF -1 in T cell development.
Journal ArticleDOI
Abnormal Development of Intestinal Intraepithelial Lymphocytes and Peripheral Natural Killer Cells in Mice Lacking the IL-2 Receptor β Chain
TL;DR: The dependence of NK cells and certain subclasses of IEL cells on IL-2Rβ expression points to an essential role for signaling through this receptor, presumably byIL-2 and/or IL-15, in the development of lymphocyte subsets of extrathymic origin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Essential roles of CD8+CD122+ regulatory T cells in the maintenance of T cell homeostasis.
TL;DR: It is shown that the transfer of CD8+CD122+ cells into CD122-deficient neonates totally prevented the development of abnormal T cells, and this results indicate that the CD8 + CD122+ population includes naturally occurringCD8+ regulatory T cells that control potentially dangerous T cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cutting Edge: CD8+CD122+ Regulatory T Cells Produce IL-10 to Suppress IFN-γ Production and Proliferation of CD8+ T Cells
Agustina Tri Endharti,Muhaimin Rifa'i,Muhaimin Rifa'i,Zhe Shi,Yukari Fukuoka,Yoshio Nakahara,Yoshiyuki Kawamoto,Yoshiyuki Kawamoto,Kozue Takeda,Ken-ichi Isobe,Haruhiko Suzuki +10 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the effector mechanism of CD8+CD122+ regulatory T cells by using an in vitro regulation system indicates that IL-10 is produced by CD8- CD122+ cells and mediates the regulatory activity of these cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
4-hydroxynonenal induces a cellular redox status-related activation of the caspase cascade for apoptotic cell death.
Wei Liu,Masashi Kato,Anwaral A. Akhand,Akemi Hayakawa,Haruhiko Suzuki,Toshio Miyata,Kiyoshi Kurokawa,Yoshihiro Hotta,Naohisa Ishikawa,Izumi Nakashima +9 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that HNE triggers oxidative stress-linked apoptotic cell death through activation of the caspase cascade, and a possible mechanism involving a direct scavenge of intracellular GSH by HNE is suggested.
