A ring system detected around the centaur (10199) chariklo

Felipe Braga-Ribas, +71 more
- 03 Apr 2014 -
TL;DR: Observations of a multichord stellar occultation revealed the presence of a ring system around (10199) Chariklo, which is a Centaur—that is, one of a class of small objects orbiting primarily between Jupiter and Neptune—with an equivalent radius of 124 9 kilometres.
Journal ArticleDOI

Proper motions of the optically visible open clusters based on the UCAC4 catalog

TL;DR: In this paper, a catalog of mean proper motions and membership probabilities of individual stars for optically visible open clusters, which have been determined using data from the UCAC4 catalog in a homogeneous way, was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Updated parameters of 1743 open clusters based on Gaia DR2

TL;DR: In this article, Monteiro et al. presented a homogeneous sample of fundamental parameters of open clusters in our Galaxy, entirely based on Gaia DR2 data, using published membership probability of the stars derived from Gaia DR 2 data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fitting Isochrones to Open Cluster photometric data: A new global optimization tool

TL;DR: In this paper, a new technique to fit color-magnitude diagrams of open clusters based on the cross-entropy global optimization algorithm is presented, which is shown to be reliable and free of the subjectivity of most previous visual isochrone fitting techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI

A multimembership catalogue for 1876 open clusters using UCAC4 data

TL;DR: The authors acknowledge financial support from the Spanish Ministry for Economy and Competitiveness and FEDER funds through grants AYA-2010-17631, BES-2011-049077, AYA2013-40611-P and AYA016-75931-C2-1-P.
