Journal ArticleDOI
A long-term perspective on immunity to COVID.
Andreas Radbruch,Hyun-Dong Chang +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors determined the duration of protection from SARS-CoV-2 infection by predicting the course of the COVID-19 pandemic and showed that immunity will be long-lasting.
Journal ArticleDOI
Maintenance of CD8+ memory T lymphocytes in the spleen but not in the bone marrow is dependent on proliferation
Francesco Siracusa,Özen Sercan Alp,Patrick Maschmeyer,Mairi McGrath,Mir-Farzin Mashreghi,Shintaro Hojyo,Hyun-Dong Chang,Koji Tokoyoda,Andreas Radbruch +8 more
TL;DR: Stability was independent of circulating CD8+ memory T cells, blocked by FTY720, showing that BM is a privileged site for the maintenance of memory T lymphocytes, as resident cells, resting in terms of proliferation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stromal Cell-Contact Dependent PI3K and APRIL Induced NF-κB Signaling Prevent Mitochondrial- and ER Stress Induced Death of Memory Plasma Cells.
Rebecca Cornelis,Stefanie Hahne,Adriano Taddeo,Georg Petkau,Darya Malko,Pawel Durek,Manja Thiem,Lukas Heiberger,Lena Peter,Elodie Mohr,Cora Klaeden,Koji Tokoyoda,Francesco Siracusa,Bimba F. Hoyer,Bimba F. Hoyer,Falk Hiepe,Falk Hiepe,Mir-Farzin Mashreghi,Fritz Melchers,Hyun-Dong Chang,Andreas Radbruch +20 more
TL;DR: Stromal-cell-contact-induced PI3K and APRIL-induced NF-κB signaling provide the necessary and complementary signals to maintain bone marrow memory plasma cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Innate-like effector differentiation of human invariant NKT cells driven by IL-7
Claudia de Lalla,Nicola Festuccia,Inka Albrecht,Hyun-Dong Chang,Grazia Andolfi,Ulrike Benninghoff,Ferdinando Bombelli,Giovanna Borsellino,Alessandro Aiuti,Andreas Radbruch,Paolo Dellabona,Giulia Casorati +11 more
TL;DR: Both ex vivo and in vitro analysis of fetal and neonatal iNKT cells delineate an effector differentiation program linked to cell division in vivo, and they identify IL-7 as one of the crucial signals driving this program in the apparent absence of Ag stimulation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Selection and depletion of plasma cells based on the specificity of the secreted antibody.
Adriano Taddeo,Velia Gerl,Bimba F. Hoyer,Hyun-Dong Chang,Siegfried Kohler,Hanne Schaffert,Andreas Thiel,Andreas Radbruch,Falk Hiepe +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that these labeled PCs can be isolated alive or induced to commit suicide in the presence of complement and rapidly select and sort viable anti-OVA-producing hybridoma cells in a cell line with partially lost OVA antibody production, obviating the need for laborand time-intensive subcloning and screening for reestablishment of the monoclonal culture.
