So,David Jien-Wei Liu,Dilip Mathai,Jennifer Perera,Tran Van Ngoc +30 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed that MRSA infections in the community have been increasing in Asian countries and data suggest that various MRSA clones have spread between the community and hospitals as well as between countries.
Journal ArticleDOI
High prevalence of antimicrobial resistance among clinical Streptococcus pneumoniae isolates in Asia (an ANSORP study).
Jae-Hoon Song,Sook-In Jung,Kwan Soo Ko,Nayoung Kim,Jun Seong Son,Hyun-Ha Chang,Hyun Kyun Ki,Won Sup Oh,Ji Yoeun Suh,Kyong Ran Peck,Nam Yong Lee,Yonghong Yang,Quan Lu,Anan Chongthaleong,Cheng-Hsun Chiu,M. TL;DR: Multilocus sequence typing showed that the spread of the Taiwan19F clone and the Spain23F clone could be one of the major reasons for the rapid increases in antimicrobial resistance among S. pneumoniae isolates in Asia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of imipenem resistance on mortality in patients with Acinetobacter bacteraemia
Ki Tae Kwon,Won Sup Oh,Jae-Hoon Song,Hyun-Ha Chang,Sook-In Jung,Shin Woo Kim,Seong Yeol Ryu,Sang Taek Heo,Dong Sik Jung,Ji-young Rhee,Sang Yop Shin,Kwan Soo Ko,Kyong Ran Peck,Nam Yong Lee +13 more
TL;DR: Imipenem resistance has a significant impact on the mortality rate among patients with Acinetobacter bacteraemia, and this is mainly attributable to the higher rate of discordant antimicrobial therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome in South Korea, 2013-2015
Seong Jin Choi,Sang Won Park,Sang Won Park,In-Gyu Bae,Sung-Han Kim,Seong Yeol Ryu,Hyun Ah Kim,Hee-Chang Jang,Jian Hur,Jae-Bum Jun,Younghee Jung,Hyun-Ha Chang,Young Keun Kim,Jongyoun Yi,Kye-Hyung Kim,Jeong-Hwan Hwang,Yeon Sook Kim,Hye Won Jeong,Kyoung Ho Song,Kyoung Ho Song,Wan Beom Park,Eu Suk Kim,Eu Suk Kim,Myoung Don Oh +23 more
TL;DR: SFTS is an endemic disease in South Korea, with a nationwide distribution and a high case-fatality ratio, and the clinical progression was similar to the 3 phases reported in China: fever, multi-organ dysfunction, and convalescence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical outcomes of pneumococcal pneumonia caused by antibiotic-resistant strains in asian countries: a study by the Asian Network for Surveillance of Resistant Pathogens.
Jae-Hoon Song,Sook-In Jung,Hyun Kyun Ki,Myung-Hee Shin,Kwan Soo Ko,Jun Seong Son,Hyun-Ha Chang,Shin Woo Kim,Hyuck Lee,Yeon Sook Kim,Won Sup Oh,Kyong Ran Peck,Anan Chongthaleong,M. K. Lalitha,Jennifer Perera,Ti Teow Yee,Farida Jamal,Adeeba Kamarulzaman,Celia C. Carlos,Thomas Man-kit So +19 more
TL;DR: Clinical severity of pneumococcal pneumonia was not significantly different between antibiotic-resistant and antibiotic-susceptible groups, and current antimicrobial regimens are mostly effective in the treatment of pneumitiscal pneumonia, despite the widespread emergence of in vitro resistance.
