TL;DR: It is confirmed that MRSA infections in the community have been increasing in Asian countries and data suggest that various MRSA clones have spread between the community and hospitals as well as between countries.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epidemiology and clinical outcomes of community-acquired pneumonia in adult patients in Asian countries: a prospective study by the Asian network for surveillance of resistant pathogens.

K. Lalitha,Ban Hock Tan,Pham Hung Van,Celia C. Carlos,Thomas Man-kit So +20 more
TL;DR: A prospective observational study of adult CAP in 14 hospitals in eight Asian countries provides relevant information about pathogen distribution and antimicrobial resistance of major pathogens of CAP as well as clinical outcomes of illness in Asian countries.

TL;DR: It was revealed that reduced susceptibility to ciprofloxacin in nontyphoid Salmonella isolates was common in Taiwan and Thailand, and in S. enterica serotype Choleraesuis and Virchow from all countries.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antimicrobial effects of varied combinations of meropenem, sulbactam, and colistin on a multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii isolate that caused meningitis and bacteremia.
TL;DR: Combined use of COL with MEM and/or SUL may provide good therapeutic options, even though MEM and SUL are in vitro resistance to the MDRAB.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical impact of methicillin resistance on outcome of patients with Staphylococcus aureus infection: A stratified analysis according to underlying diseases and sites of infection in a large prospective cohort
Cheol-In Kang,Jae-Hoon Song,Doo Ryeon Chung,Kyong Ran Peck,Kwan Soo Ko,Joon Sup Yeom,Shin Woo Kim,Hyun-Ha Chang,Yeon Sook Kim,Sook-In Jung,Jun Seong Son,Po-Ren Hsueh,Thomas Man-kit So,M. K. Lalitha,Yonghong Yang,Shao-Guang Huang,Hui Wang,Quan Lu,Celia C. Carlos,Jennifer Perera,Cheng-Hsun Chiu,Jien-Wei Liu,Anan Chongthaleong,Visanu Thamlikitkul,Hung Van Pham +24 more
TL;DR: Methicillin resistance adversely affected the outcome of patients with S. aureus infection, in patients with cancer or renal disease and in those with S-Aureus bacteremia, although MRSA infection was not found to be significantly associated with higher mortality in overall patient population.
