High-energy neutrino follow-up search of gravitational wave event GW150914 with ANTARES and IceCube

S. Adrián-Martínez, +1399 more
TL;DR: In this article, the high-energy-neutrino follow-up observations of the first gravitational wave transient GW150914 observed by the Advanced LIGO detectors on September 14, 2015 are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wind mass-loss rates of stripped stars inferred from Cygnus X-1

TL;DR: In this article, a possible formation channel for the high-mass X-ray binary Cygnus X-1 system that matches the observed system properties was presented, which implies a significant reduction in mass loss through winds relative to commonly used prescriptions for stripped stars.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wind mass-loss rates of stripped stars inferred from Cygnus X-1

TL;DR: In this paper, a possible formation channel for the high-mass X-ray binary Cygnus X-1 system that matches the observed system properties was presented, which implies a significant reduction in mass loss through winds relative to commonly used prescriptions for stripped stars.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conditions for accretion disc formation and observability of wind-accreting X-ray binaries

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of anisotropic wind driving on the properties of accretion onto black holes (BHs) in close binary systems was explored and a focused accretion stream was naturally formed when the Roche lobe filling factor is below or above 0.8-0.9.
