Journal ArticleDOI

Multiphase composition changes and reactive oxygen species formation during limonene oxidation in the new Cambridge Atmospheric Simulation Chamber (CASC)

TL;DR: The Cambridge Atmospheric Simulation Chamber (CASC) as discussed by the authors has been used for real-time quantification of reactive oxygen species (ROSI) produced during secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new processing scheme for ultra-high resolution direct infusion mass spectrometry data

TL;DR: In this article, a new processing scheme is introduced implementing filtering methods based on element assignment, instrumental error, and blank subtraction, which allows both positive and negative direct infusion electrospray ionisation (ESI) and atmospheric pressure photoionisation (APPI) acquisition with the same programs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rapid Formation of Secondary Organic Aerosol from the Photolysis of 1-Nitronaphthalene: Role of Naphthoxy Radical Self-reaction

TL;DR: The results of this work suggest that photolysis of 1-nitronaphthalene represents a previously unidentified pathway to SOA formation in the troposphere and analogous mechanisms may also be important for other nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical water monitoring under the Water Framework Directive with Certified Reference Materials

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a critical overview of certified reference materials (CRMs) related to WFD monitoring needs, and show how a CRM could be used in the estimation of measurement uncertainty for checking compliance at the Environmental Quality Standard level, according to technical specifications given in Directive 2009/90/EC.
