Journal ArticleDOI

Radical Formation by Fine Particulate Matter Associated with Highly Oxygenated Molecules

TL;DR: This study provides new insights into the chemical relationship of HOM abundance, composition, and sources with the yield of radicals by laboratory and ambient aerosols, enabling better quantification of source- or site-specific fine PM to its climate and health effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular composition of organic aerosols at urban background and road tunnel sites using ultra-high resolution mass spectrometry

TL;DR: The overall particle composition at an urban background site and road tunnel in Birmingham, UK, are compared with an industrial harbour site in Cork, Ireland, with special emphasis on oxidised mono-aromatics, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and nitro-Aromatics.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gas-phase reaction of (E)-β-farnesene with ozone: Rate coefficient and carbonyl products

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed mechanism for the gas-phase ozonolysis of (E)-β-farnesene is proposed, which accounts for all of the products observed in this study, including 4-oxopentanal, methylglyoxal, 4-methylenehex-5enal, 6-methylhept-5-en-2-one, and (E)4-methyl-8-methylenedeca-4,9-dienal.
