Journal ArticleDOI

Double transport barrier plasmas in Alcator C-Mod

TL;DR: In this article, double transport barrier plasmas comprised of an edge enhanced D? (EDA) H-mode pedestal and an internal transport barrier (ITB) have been observed in Alcator C-Mod.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transport-driven scrape-off layer flows and the x-point dependence of the L-H power threshold in Alcator C-Mod

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that a factor of ∼2 higher power thresholds for low-to high-confinement mode transitions with unfavorable x-point topologies in Alcator C-Mod are linked to flow boundary conditions imposed by the scrape-off layer (SOL).
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental and Theoretical Study of Quasicoherent Fluctuations in Enhanced D α Plasmas in the Alcator C-Mod Tokamak

TL;DR: It is proposed here that the QC mode is a form of resistive ballooning mode known as the resistive X-point mode, in reasonable agreement with predictions by the BOUT (boundary-plasma turbulence) code.
