Journal ArticleDOI

Natural killer cell signaling pathways.

TL;DR: The tyrosine-phosphorylation status of several signaling components that are substrates for both PTKs and PTPs is thus key to the propagation of the NK cell effector pathways.
Journal ArticleDOI

Binding of phosphatidyl-inositol-3-OH kinase to CD28 is required for T-cell signalling

TL;DR: The results suggest that phosphatidylinositol-3-OH kinase is critical for signalling by CD28, and show that CD28 mutants that have their kinase-binding site deleted or the tyrosine at position 173 substituted by phenylalanine do not associate with the kinase after CD28 stimulation and cannot stimulate production of interleukin-2.
Journal ArticleDOI

Alternatively spliced NKp30 isoforms affect the prognosis of gastrointestinal stromal tumors

TL;DR: The genetically determined NKp30 status predicts the clinical outcomes of individuals with GIST independently from KIT mutation, and predominant expression of the immunosuppressiveNKp30c isoform was associated with reduced survival of subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI

IFN-α Skews Monocyte Differentiation into Toll-Like Receptor 7-Expressing Dendritic Cells with Potent Functional Activities

TL;DR: The critical role of IFN-α at the early steps of immune response to pathogens or in autoimmune diseases is illustrated by the results of this study, which shows that monocytes cultured in the presence of GM-CSF and IFn-α can differentiate into DCs.
