Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on experimental hypertension i. the production of persistent elevation of systolic blood pressure by means of renal ischemia

TL;DR: In several of the animals with persistent elevation of systolic blood pressure, anatomical changes were observed in the glomeruli, vessels and parenchyma of the kidneys which are most probably directly referable to the ischemia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Global carbon sequestration in tidal, saline wetland soils

TL;DR: In this article, the average soil carbon density of mangrove swamps (0.055 ± 0.004 g cm−3) is significantly higher than the salt marsh average ( 0.039 − 0.003 g cm −3) due to increased decay rates at higher temperatures.
Journal ArticleDOI

The proliferation gene expression signature is a quantitative integrator of oncogenic events that predicts survival in mantle cell lymphoma

TL;DR: A quantitative model of the aberrant cell cycle regulation in MCL is proposed that provides a rationale for the design of cell cycle inhibitor therapy in this malignancy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sex, Age, and Disease Affect Echocardiographic Left Ventricular Mass and Systolic Function in the Free-Living Elderly The Cardiovascular Health Study

TL;DR: Major baseline relations were detected between differences in sex, prevalent disease status, and echocardiographic measurements of LV mass and systolic function in the CHS cohort and male sex and presence of clinical CHD were revealed to be independent predictors of LV akinesis or dyskinesis.
