Real-time MRI for evaluation of dysphagia in inclusion body myositis (IBM) (P2.015)
TL;DR: Dysphagia is present in the majority of IBM patients and RT-MRI is safe and superior to VF for a reliable detection, and this novel tool will be of high clinical relevance for assessing dysphagia in IBM as well as in many other conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reply: Comment on alemtuzumab and inclusion body myositis
Marinos C. Dalakas,Goran Rakocevic,Jens Schmidt,Beverly McElroy,Michael O. Harris-Love,Joseph A. Shrader,Ellen W. Levy,James M. Dambrosia +7 more
TL;DR: The main finding was a significant reduction of relevant molecules seen in repeated muscle biopsies, combined with short-term clinical stability; this is encouraging and, as the authors stressed, warrants a controlled study.

Response to: 'Antisynthetase syndrome or what else? Different perspectives indicate the need for new classification criteria' by Cavagna et al
James B. Lilleker,Jiri Vencovsky,Guochun Wang,Lucy R. Wedderburn,Louise C. Pyndt Raun Diederichsen,Jens Schmidt,Paula Jordan,Olivier Benveniste,Maria Giovanna Danieli,Katalin Dankó,Nguyen Thi Phuong Thuy,Mónica Vázquez-Del Mercado,Helena Andersson,Boel De Paepe,Jan De Bleecker,Britta Maurer,Liza J McCann,Nicolò Pipitone,Neil McHugh,Zoe E Betteridge,Paul New,Robert G. Cooper,William E R Ollier,Janine A. Lamb,Niels Steen Krogh,Ingrid E. Lundberg,Hector Chinoy,all EuroMyositis contributors +27 more
TL;DR: It is of great interest and reassurance that the demographics and clinical features of antisynthetase syndrome (ASS) are broadly similar between the AENEAS (American and European NEtwork of Anti-Synthetases syndrome) and EuroMyositis cohorts.
Ac 2007-1054: teaching free-hand drawing in aerospace engineering
TL;DR: In this paper, the use of an art-based approach to help students to think at deeper and more creative levels is discussed in an undergraduate aerospace engineering design class, where the instructor uses the drawing of airplanes throughout the semester to explain essential design components and tries to get the students to focus on seeing and visualizing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostik und Therapie von Myositiden
Maren Breithaupt,Jens Schmidt +1 more
