Journal ArticleDOI

Opening 'Jaws': Functionalisation of the hexaphosphapentaprismane cage, P6C4 tBu4, affording X2P6C4 tBu4 (X = Me, I), crystal and molecular structures of X2P6C4 tBu4 (X = Me, I) and [cis-PtCl2Me2P6C4 tBu4]

TL;DR: The hexaphosphapentaprismane cage, (P6C4Bu4)-Bu-t ("Jaws"), can be readily opened by reaction with iodine at room temperature to afford the di-iodo derivative (I2P 6C4 Bu4)-bu-t which can be converted to the dimethyl derivative (Me2P6c4Bu 4)-Bu -t by treatment with LiMe.
Journal ArticleDOI

The first 2,3-dihydro-1H-[1,2,4] triphosphole

TL;DR: Protonation of the lithium triphospha-cyclopentenyl salt Li (P3C2But2RR′) (R=(Me3Si)2CH-, R′=Bun) with HCl affords the new 2,3-dihydro-1H-[1,2,4] triphosphole P3C 2But2(H) (Bun), CH(SiMe3)2 which has been structurally characterised as its [W(CO)5] complex.
Journal ArticleDOI

Syntheses, Structures and Photoelectron Spectra of Phospha-Alkenes and Phospha-Alkynes and Their Transition Metal Complexes

TL;DR: In this paper, He (I) photoelectron spectroscopic studies on a variety of RC[tbnd]P molecules were carried out, and it was shown that the homo is also of the π-type and πσ separation is much greater than that found in the analogous RC[n]N systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Some (phenylazo)phenyl-2c, n′-rhodium complexes containing trifluorophosphine

TL;DR: [RhCI(PF 3 ) 2 ] 2 acts as a catalyst for the reduction of azobenzene to hydrazobenzenes and is the other product of these latter reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI

η2-Co-ordination in a 1,3-diphospha-allene complex of platinum(0). Synthesis and solution 31P n.m.r. spectrum of [Pt(PPh3)2(RPCPR)](R = 2,4,6-But3C6H2)

TL;DR: The first example of a coordnation complex containing the novel diphospha-allene ligand RPCPR (R = 2,4,6-But3C6H2) is reported and solution 31P n.m.r.
