Variations in accelerometry measured physical activity and sedentary time across Europe - harmonized analyses of 47,497 children and adolescents
Jostein Steene-Johannessen,Bjørge H. Hansen,Knut Eirik Dalene,Elin Kolle,Kate Northstone,Niels Møller,Anders Grøntved,Niels Wedderkopp,Susi Kriemler,Angie S Page,Jardena J. Puder,John J. Anderssen,Ulf Ekelund +50 more
TL;DR: The findings should encourage policymakers, governments, and local and national stakeholders to take action to facilitate an increase in the physical activity levels of young people across Europe.

Predictive Validity and Classification Accuracy of ActiGraph Energy Expenditure Equations and Cut-Points in Young Children
Xanne Janssen,Dylan P. Cliff,John J. Reilly,Trina Hinkley,Rachel A. Jones,Marijka Batterham,Ulf Ekelund,Soren Brage,Anthony D. Okely +8 more
TL;DR: ActiGraph equations do not provide accurate estimates of energy expenditure across physical activity intensities in preschoolers.
Journal ArticleDOI
The nutritional status and clinical course of acute admissions to a geriatric unit
TL;DR: It is indicated that severe malnutrition is common in elderly medical admissions, and that it is associated with an increased risk of sepsis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coexistence of social inequalities in undernutrition and obesity in preschool children: population based cross sectional study
TL;DR: Undernutrition and obesity are significantly more common than expected in young children and strongly associated with social deprivation, and public health strategies need to tackle malnutrition (both under malnutrition and obesity) in children and take into consideration the association with social deprived.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seasonality in Physical Activity and Sedentary Behavior in Young Children
John J. Reilly,Abigail Fisher,Colette Montgomery,A Williamson,Diane M Jackson,James Y. Paton,Stan Grant +6 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that seasonality plays only a limited role in physical activity and sedentary behavior in young children in Glasgow, Scotland, and single measures of these variables should be adequate for research purposes in the absence of marked seasonal variability.
