Journal Article
[Albuminuria and cardiovascular risk: basal results of the KORAL-CARDIO study].
TL;DR: Cardiovascular complications are very frequently associated to albuminuria in patients with hypertension and heart disease not previously treated with angiotensin inhibitors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Questions and answers on antithrombotic therapy: a companion document of the 2015 ESC Guidelines for the management of acute coronary syndromes in patients presenting without persistent ST-segment elevation
Jean-Philippe Collet,Marco Roffi,Christian Mueller,Marco Valgimigli,Carlo Patrono,Helmut Baumgartner,Oliver Gaemperli,José Luis Zamorano +7 more
TL;DR: An 85-year-old woman presented to the emergency room with recent recurrent interscapular back pain occurring during short walking distance and cold exposure and the discomfort sometimes persisted at rest for few minutes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence of renal dysfunction according to the type of atrial fibrillation and anticoagulation treatment in patients who attended primary care in Spain
TL;DR: Chronic kidney disease is common in patients with AF, particularly in those patients with permanent AF or CHA2DS2-VASc ≥2 and moderate renal dysfunction did not receive appropriate anticoagulation, despite the high risk of stroke.
Journal ArticleDOI

Elliott M. Antman,Jeroen J. Bax,Richard A. Chazal,Mark A. Creager,Gerasimos Filippatos,Jonathan L. Halperin,Steven R. Houser,JoAnn Lindenfeld,Fausto J. Pinto,Panos Vardas,Mary Norine Walsh,Kim A. Williams,José Luis Zamorano +12 more
TL;DR: This editorial refers to ‘2016 ESC Guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic heart failure’, by P. Ponikowski et al, on page 2129.
Journal ArticleDOI
3D-wall motion tracking: a new tool for myocardial contractility analysis.
Leopoldo Pérez de Isla,Cesar Montes,Tania Monzón,José Antonio Herrero,Adriana Saltijeral,David Vivas Balcones,Alberto de Agustín,Iván J. Núñez-Gil,Covadonga Fernández-Golfín,Carlos Almería,José Luis Rodrigo,Pedro Marcos-Alberca,Carlos Macaya,José Luis Zamorano +13 more
TL;DR: LV 3D-wall motion tracking-derived systolic function parameters are less dependent on load conditions than LVEF and might be useful to detect early and subtle contractility impairments in a wide number of cardiac patients and they could help to optimize the clinical management of such patients.
