Single-Phase FLLs Based on Linear Kalman Filter, Limit-Cycle Oscillator, and Complex Bandpass Filter: Analysis and Comparison With a Standard FLL in Grid Applications

TL;DR: Frequency-locked loops based on the linear Kalman filter, complex bandpass filter, and circular limit-cycle oscillator are considered, which have not been well analyzed in the literature, and limited knowledge about their real advantages/disadvantages compared to the SOGI-FLL exists.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Root-Locus Design Methodology Derived From the Impedance/Admittance Stability Formulation and Its Application for LCL Grid-Connected Converters in Wind Turbines

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a systematic methodology for the design and tuning of the current controller in LCL grid-connected converters for wind turbine applications, which is derived from the impedance/admittance stability formulation, which has been proved to be suitable for the controller design when the active damping is implemented and, on the other hand, has also been very suitable for system-level studies in applications with a high penetration of renewable energy resources.
Journal ArticleDOI

Grid simulator for power quality assessment of micro-grids

TL;DR: In this article, a grid simulator based on a back-to-back inverter topology with resonant controllers is presented to test the performance of a given system under such distorted voltages.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Using smart meters data for energy management operations and power quality monitoring in a microgrid

TL;DR: This paper presents the integration of a commercial advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) in the context of a smart building with an energy management system (EMS), and power quality monitoring based on this AMI is explained.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Study of large-signal stability of an inverter-based generator using a Lyapunov function

TL;DR: This document analyses the large-signal stability for an inverter-based generator such as photovoltaic and wind power sources using the Popov method, which not only permits to generate a valid function but also to determine the stability region of the system.
