The Pristine Dwarf-Galaxy survey -- IV. Probing the outskirts of the dwarf galaxy Bo\"otes I

TL;DR: In this article, a new spectroscopic study of the dwarf galaxy Bootes I (Boo I) with data from the Anglo-Australian Telescope and its AAOmega spectrograph together with the Two Degree Field multi-object system is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tidal Torques and the Orientation of Nearby Disk Galaxies

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used numerical simulations to investigate the orientation of the angular momentum axis of disk galaxies relative to their surrounding large scale structure, and found that the rotation axis is aligned very well with the intermediate principal axis of the inertia momentum tensor at this time.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Structure of Cold Dark Matter Halos

TL;DR: In this article, high-resolution N-body simulations show that the density profiles of dark matter halos formed in the standard CDM cosmogony can be fit accurately by scaling a simple universal profile.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Hierarchical Origin of Galaxy Morphologies

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of N-body/gas-dynamical simulations designed to study the origin of galaxy morphologies in a cold dark matter-dominated universe are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

The diversity of rotation curves of simulated galaxies with cusps and cores

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors used ΛCDM cosmological hydrodynamical simulations to explore the kinematics of gaseous discs in late-type dwarf galaxies.
