Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of dark matter substructures on gravitational lensing: results from the Aquarius simulations

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the high-resolution Aquarius simulations of the formation of Milky Way-sized halos in the Λ cold dark matter cosmology to study the effects of dark matter substructures on gravitational lensing.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Many lives of AGN: Cooling flows, black holes and the luminosities and colours of galaxies

TL;DR: In this article, a model for radio feedback from those AGNs that lie at the centre of a quasistatic X-ray emitting atmosphere in a galaxy group or cluster is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Satellites of simulated galaxies: survival, merging and their relationto the dark and stellar haloes

TL;DR: In this paper, the population of satellite galaxies formed in a suite of N-body/gas-dynamical simulations of galaxy formation in a cold dark matter universe was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mass-Discrepancy Acceleration Relation: A Natural Outcome of Galaxy Formation in Cold Dark Matter Halos.

TL;DR: Analysis of the total and baryonic acceleration profiles of a set of well-resolved galaxies identified in the eagle suite of hydrodynamic simulations finds that galaxies exhibit a characteristic acceleration g_{†}, above which baryons dominate the mass budget, as observed.
