Cognitive stimulation in the workplace, plasma proteins, and risk of dementia: three analyses of population cohort studies

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the association between cognitively stimulating work and subsequent risk of dementia and to identify protein pathways for this association and found that higher cognitive stimulation at work was associated with lower levels of proteins that inhibit central nervous system axonogenesis and synaptogenesis.

TL;DR: In this contemporary cohort of men, lack of leadership (a type A behaviour component) contributed to the association between job strain and CIMT 15 years later, whereas pre-employment family factors had only a modest effect on this association.
