Contrasted styles of rifting in the eastern Gulf of Aden: A combined wide-angle, multichannel seismic, and heat flow survey
Sylvie Leroy,Francis Lucazeau,Elia d'Acremont,Louise Watremez,Julia Autin,S. Rouzo,Nicolas Bellahsen,Christel Tiberi,Cynthia Ebinger,Marie-Odile Beslier,Julie Perrot,Philippe Razin,Frédérique Rolandone,Heather Sloan,Graham Stuart,Ali Al Lazki,K. Al-Toubi,François Bache,Alain Bonneville,Bruno Goutorbe,Philippe Huchon,P. Unternehr,Khaled Khanbari +22 more
TL;DR: In this article, the Gulf of Aden rift is considered to be a young ocean basin in which the earliest synrift to breakup structures are well exposed onshore and covered by thin sediment layers offshore.
Journal ArticleDOI
Persistent thermal activity at the Eastern Gulf of Aden after continental break-up
Francis Lucazeau,Sylvie Leroy,Alain Bonneville,Bruno Goutorbe,Frédérique Rolandone,Elia d'Acremont,Louise Watremez,Doga Düsünur,Patrick Tuchais,Philippe Huchon,Nicolas Bellahsen,K. Al-Toubi +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, surface heat-flow data from the Eastern Gulf of Aden indicate a thermal anomaly that has persisted after continental break-up, which may have been caused by small-scale convection that occurred during and after rifting.
Journal ArticleDOI
Probabilistic seismic hazard maps for the sultanate of Oman
Issa El-Hussain,A. Deif,Khalifa Al-Jabri,N. Toksoz,S. El-Hady,S. Al-Hashmi,K. Al-Toubi,Y. Al-Shijbi,M. Al-Saifi,Sadi Kuleli +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the results of the first probabilistic seismic hazard assessment (PSHA) in the framework of logic tree for Oman, where the earthquake catalogue was homogenized, declustered, and used to define seismotectonic source model that characterizes the seismicity of Oman.

Evidence of partial melting beneath a continental margin: case of Dhofar, in the Northeast Gulf of Aden (Sultanate of Oman)
Clémence Basuyau,Christel Tiberi,Sylvie Leroy,Graham Stuart,Ali Al-Lazki,K. Al-Toubi,Cynthia Ebinger +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors apply a linear relationship between density and velocity to provide consistent density models from mid-crust down to about 250 km depth, and discuss the presence of partial melting in terms of interaction between the Sheba ridge melts and its along-axis segmentation.
