A Mouse Model of Amyloid β Oligomers: Their Contribution to Synaptic Alteration, Abnormal Tau Phosphorylation, Glial Activation, and Neuronal Loss In Vivo
Takami Tomiyama,Shogo Matsuyama,Hiroyuki Iso,Tomohiro Umeda,Tomohiro Umeda,Hiroshi Takuma,Kiyouhisa Ohnishi,Kenichi Ishibashi,Rie Teraoka,Naomi Sakama,Takenari Yamashita,Kazuchika Nishitsuji,Kazuhiro Ito,Hiroyuki Shimada,Mary P. Lambert,William L. Klein,Hiroshi Mori,Hiroshi Mori +17 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that APP transgenic mice are a useful model of A β oligomer-induced pathology in the absence of amyloid plaques and that Aβ oligomers cause not only synaptic alteration but also other features of AD pathology.
Journal ArticleDOI
A combination of TERT promoter mutation and MGMT methylation status predicts clinically relevant subgroups of newly diagnosed glioblastomas
Hideyuki Arita,Hideyuki Arita,Kai Yamasaki,Yuko Matsushita,Taishi Nakamura,Taishi Nakamura,Asanao Shimokawa,Hirokazu Takami,Hirokazu Takami,Shota Tanaka,Akitake Mukasa,Mitsuaki Shirahata,Saki Shimizu,Kaori Suzuki,Kuniaki Saito,Keiichi Kobayashi,Fumi Higuchi,Takeo Uzuka,Ryohei Otani,Kaoru Tamura,Kazutaka Sumita,Makoto Ohno,Yasuji Miyakita,Naoki Kagawa,Naoya Hashimoto,Ryusuke Hatae,Koji Yoshimoto,Naoki Shinojima,Hideo Nakamura,Yonehiro Kanemura,Yoshiko Okita,Manabu Kinoshita,Kenichi Ishibashi,Tomoko Shofuda,Yoshinori Kodama,Kanji Mori,Yusuke Tomogane,Junya Fukai,Koji Fujita,Yuzo Terakawa,Naohiro Tsuyuguchi,Shusuke Moriuchi,Masahiro Nonaka,Hiroyoshi Suzuki,Makoto Shibuya,Taketoshi Maehara,Nobuhito Saito,Motoo Nagane,Nobutaka Kawahara,Keisuke Ueki,Toshiki Yoshimine,Etsuo Miyaoka,Ryo Nishikawa,Takashi Komori,Yoshitaka Narita,Koichi Ichimura +55 more
TL;DR: The findings suggest that a combination of IDH, TERT, and MGMT refines the classification of grade II-IV diffuse gliomas, and patients with TERT mutant-MGMT unmethylated GBM have the poorest prognosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
The E693Δ Mutation in Amyloid Precursor Protein Increases Intracellular Accumulation of Amyloid β Oligomers and Causes Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress-Induced Apoptosis in Cultured Cells
Kazuchika Nishitsuji,Takami Tomiyama,Kenichi Ishibashi,Kazuhiro Ito,Rie Teraoka,Mary P. Lambert,William L. Klein,Hiroshi Mori +7 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that mutant Abeta induces alteration of Abeta trafficking and subsequent ER stress-induced apoptosis via enhancement of its intracellular oligomerization, and suggest that Abeta oligomers exhibit toxicity in the extracellular space and within the cells themselves.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of neuropsychological outcomes after selective amygdalohippocampectomy versus anterior temporal lobectomy.
Michiharu Morino,Takehiro Uda,Kentaro Naito,Masaki Yoshimura,Kenichi Ishibashi,Takeo Goto,Kenji Ohata,Mitsuhiro Hara +7 more
TL;DR: Overall, memory function was better preserved in the TSA group than in the ATL group, and there was significant postoperative improvement in verbal memory after right-sided resection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Functional Preservation After Planned Partial Resection Followed by Gamma Knife Radiosurgery for Large Vestibular Schwannomas.
TL;DR: Planned partial removal of large VS followed by GKS achieved a high rate of facial nerve and hearing preservation and revealed that patients with hearing preservation postoperatively have a chance of maintaining hearing function, even though the possibility exists of deterioration by long-term follow-up after surgical intervention and GKS.
