Barouch,Jenny Hendriks,Frank Struyf,Macaya Douoguih,Johan Van Hoof,Hanneke Schuitemaker +26 more
TL;DR: In this article, effective vaccines are urgently needed to contain the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic of infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS) 2.
Journal ArticleDOI
mRNA vaccination boosts cross-variant neutralizing antibodies elicited by SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Leonidas Stamatatos,Leonidas Stamatatos,Julie Czartoski,Yu Hsin Wan,Leah J. Homad,Vanessa Rubin,Hayley Glantz,Moni B. Neradilek,Emilie Seydoux,Madeleine F. Jennewein,Anna J. McGuire,Andrew T. McGuire +23 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined whether sera from recovered and naive donors collected prior to, and following immunizations with existing mRNA vaccines, could neutralize the Wuhan-Hu-1 and B.1.351 variants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Origin and differentiation of human memory CD8 T cells after vaccination
Rama Akondy,Mark Fitch,Srilatha Edupuganti,Shu Yang,Haydn T. Kissick,Kelvin Li,Ben Youngblood,Ben Youngblood,Hossam A. Abdelsamed,Donald J. McGuire,Kristen W. Cohen,Gabriela Alexe,Gabriela Alexe,Shashi Nagar,Megan McCausland,Satish Gupta,Pramila Tata,W. Nicholas Haining,W. Nicholas Haining,M. Juliana McElrath,David W. Zhang,Bin Hu,William J. Greenleaf,Jörg J. Goronzy,Mark J. Mulligan,Marc K. Hellerstein,Rafi Ahmed +26 more
TL;DR: Open chromatin profile at effector genes was maintained in memory CD8 T cells isolated even a decade after vaccination, indicating that these cells retain an epigenetic fingerprint of their effector history and remain poised to respond rapidly upon re-exposure to the pathogen.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of a SARS-CoV-2-Infected Individual Reveals Development of Potent Neutralizing Antibodies with Limited Somatic Mutation.
Emilie Seydoux,Leah J. Homad,Anna J. MacCamy,K. Rachael Parks,K. Rachael Parks,Nicholas K. Hurlburt,Madeleine F. Jennewein,Nicholas R. Akins,Andrew B. Stuart,Yu Hsin Wan,Junli Feng,Rachael E. McGuire,Leonidas Stamatatos,Leonidas Stamatatos +25 more
TL;DR: Most anti-S antibodies that were generated in this patient during the first weeks of COVID-19 infection were non-neutralizing and target epitopes outside the RBD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Engineering HIV envelope protein to activate germline B cell receptors of broadly neutralizing anti-CD4 binding site antibodies
Andrew T. McGuire,Sam Hoot,Anita M. Dreyer,Adriana Lippy,Andrew B. Stuart,Kristen W. Cohen,Kristen W. Cohen,Joseph G. Jardine,Sergey Menis,Johannes F. Scheid,Anthony P. West,William R. Schief,Leonidas Stamatatos,Leonidas Stamatatos +13 more
TL;DR: Eliminating key glycosylation sites on HIV envelope (Env) restores binding of the germline versions of known broadly neutralizing anti-Env antibodies.
