A measurement of secondary cosmic microwave background anisotropies from the 2500-square-degree SPT-SZ survey

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present measurements of secondary cosmic microwave background anisotropies and cosmic infrared background (CIB) fluctuations using data from the South Pole Telescope (SPT) covering the complete 2540 sq.deg.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sounds Discordant: Classical Distance Ladder & $\Lambda$CDM -based Determinations of the Cosmological Sound Horizon

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used a variety of cosmic microwave background (CMB) datasets to constrain the Lambda$CDM parameters and found the model-based sound horizon to be larger than the empirically-determined one with a statistical significance of between 2 and 3$\sigma, depending on the dataset.
Journal ArticleDOI

Planck early results. IX. XMM-Newton follow-up for validation of Planck cluster candidates

Nabila Aghanim, +198 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the XMM-Newton follow-up for confirmation of Planck cluster candidates is presented, where a total of 21 candidates are confirmed as extended X-ray sources.
Journal ArticleDOI

Planck early results. IX. XMM-Newton follow-up for validation of Planck cluster candidates

Nabila Aghanim, +225 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the XMM-Newton follow-up for confirmation of Planck cluster candidates is presented, where a total of 21 candidates are confirmed as extended X-ray sources.
Journal ArticleDOI

21 cm Tomography with Foregrounds

TL;DR: In this article, a blind method was proposed to extract the multifrequency 21 cm signal by taking advantage of the smooth frequency structure of the Galactic and extragalactic foregrounds.
